'What did you say his name was?' Yukhei asked, still confused about the 'small' favour Jaehyun was asking for.
'TAEYONG. I've said this four times already! He's shorter than me, skinny like the rest of peasants, sharp jawline, big eyes. Overall he has a pretty face but he always has this look of disgust and fear at the same time. He will definitely fight back whether you give him an explanation or not, do you can just bring him here without talking to him. He will probably yell at you and throw a fit when you get him, so I'm giving you permission to shut him up.'
'And how do I do that?'
'I don't know and I don't care as long as you keep him alive. Maybe cover his mouth or put something in it or choke him until he calms down. He's like a baby, y'know? As soon as his mouth is full he'll stop making so much noise.'
'Can you remind me why am I letting use MY servants again? You spend your free time tormenting MY butler, and now you want MY bodyguard to help you kidnap some peasant that you got too attached to?' Taeil whined. He didn't like it when Jaehyun used what was his one bit, but he knew it was too much of an insignificant matter to complain about it to his father.
'I'm not too attached to him, I just want to have a little fun! And you're helping me because you love me a lot~' Jaehyun said as he clung to Taeil like a baby. He started kissing his cheek repeatedly and squeezing the older in a tight hug. 'I know you love me~'
Taeil got fed up with that and pushed him off. Jaehyun was always like this when he wanted a big favour from Taeil, so he was practically used to it by now.
'Do whatever you want. Let's go, Johnny.'
Johnny nodded and followed Moon out of the room, leaving Yukhei and Jaehyun alone in there.
'So, what are you waiting for?' Jaehyun asked Yukhei, crossing his arms. When he saw the taller didn't understand he made himself clear. 'Go. Bring me the peasant.'
Yukhei nodded and left the room, internally repeating 'Taeyong, Taeyong, Taeyong, Taeyong...' not to forget his name again.
Mark was peacefully munching on a dry cookie, sitting on one of those old creaking chairs as he hummed something to distract himself. The cookie was hard to bite, it wasn't even tasty, but he was bored and hungry and he wasn't in the mood to go get something better to fill his empty stomach.
The door was slammed open so loudly Mark thought the walls would collapse. He jumped in his place and fell off the chair out of surprise.
'Holy fuck!' He said as he placed a hand on his chest, feeling the accelerated heart rate.
'Taeyong?' The stranger asked. He was a tall man that looked really intimidating, specially to Mark since he was still on the floor.
Mark got up and dusted his butt.
'Who are you?' He asked.
'You don't need to know that. Are you Taeyong?'
'I'm Taeyong. Who are you and what are you doing in my house?' Taeyong appeared behind the unknown guy.
The tall knight turned around to face him and put on a bright smile.
'Come with me.'
'But-'
The knight didn't let Taeyong speak. He picked him up like he was a sack of flour and turned around to leave, but in the blink of an eye his friend appeared right before him, blocking the way.
'If you don't get out of my way you might get injured.'
However, Mark ignored the knight's words.
'Let him go. We want an expla-'
Mark didn't have time to react as his brain was still processing how that knight's hand suddenly became a bat that wing his way and sent him flying across the street. He hit his head against another house's wall and fell unconscious.
Taeyong saw that and was horrified. What if Mark was dead. He started moving around to free himself from the other's grasp and shouting at him.
'Let me go! Let me go! What did I do? Why are you taking me? Let me go! Why did you hurt him?' But all that ended when he felt the arm that was holding him slowly transforming into what felt like a... rope? snake? climbing plant?
The thing was that he started feeling something slowly wrapping around him, looping around his waist at first, then going down his legs until they reached his ankles and at the same time going up and belting around his arms and chest, preventing him from moving, around his neck and finally reaching his face. He felt, horrified, how the rope wasn't something external. It moved by itself, it wasn't an object. He opened his mouth to scream, but the rope used this as an opportunity to intrude his mouth and almost made him gag. He tried to bite down on the rope, but instead of making it back off, it only went deeper down his throat. He couldn't speak nor move, he felt the rope tightening around his body to the point he felt he'd be squeezed to death. Breathing was hard and the uncomfortable feeling of having something all around his body and inside his mouth made him shiver. His eyes were wide open, tears threatening to come out. But he swallowed them in. He didn't want to cry. No, he needed an explanation as to why he was being treated like that. He didn't do anything wrong, did he?
Unless...
Everything made sense. The rejection had enraged the noble. Jung probably sent someone after him for hurting his pride and he was probably going to be sacrificed in front of the rest of the peasants to show them they should never reject Jaehyun. He was dead, and he was getting mentally ready for that.
'Stop moving. I was given permission to leave you unconscious if you cause too much trouble.' The knight growled.
Taeyong didn't realise he was shaking, he told himself to be quiet.
Unconscious... That means they need me alive. Maybe I'm not completely dead...
