'Is the dirty ground a nice place to sleep on?'
Taeyong's eyes opened slowly as he heard that voice. He was cold, so cold. He was shivering. His clothes were all wet and he felt the rain drops against his skin. He looked beside him, and there he was. The last person he wanted to see at that moment.
'Jung...'
'Oh, I see you remember me, Taeyong.' Jaehyun said.
He was crouching next to Taeyong, watching the older amusedly. He was casually wandering around when he found him sleeping on the ground and minutes after it started to rain.
'How do you know my name?' Taeyong asked as he slowly got up.
'Hmm... Someone told me. Why were you sleeping on the ground?'
'I... don't know. I just fell asleep. Why are you still here?' He tried to shrug it off, although it was quite an odd situation.
'Is casually falling asleep in unexpected places your superpower?' He mocked Taeyong. 'And as to why I'm here, I was just on a walk until I saw a sleeping beauty in an ugly place, so I thought: 'why not remind Taeyongie my offer is still up?'
Jaehyun's hand slowly caressed Taeyong's cheek, making the older uncomfortable.
'You're so annoying. How many times are you going to ask?'
'Until you say yes, of course.'
Taeyong slapped his hand away and turned around, decided to go home. However, Jaehyun stopped him by gripping his arm tightly.
'Why are you so persistent in rejecting me?'
'Because I love Doyoung.'
'Doyoung, Doyoung, Doyoung... All you think of is Doyoung. Forget about him already. He's not alive anymore.' Taeyong stayed silent to Jaehyun's words. 'Look at me. I'm handsome, I'm hot and I have money. Why won't you come with me? It would be way easier for you just to accept it. You'll get money and I'll stop bothering you.'
'I don't want your dirty money.'
'Oh, but you need it.'
Taeyong froze as he heard those words.
'How'd you know?' He asked. However, Jaehyun just motioned to leave. Taeyong grabbed his arm to stop him from walking away. 'How'd you know, Jung?'
'Oh so now you want me...'
'No, I want to know what you know about me. How do you know I need money?'
'It's obvious you do. You're just a peasant.'
'Ah, I see. Then, since I'm just a peasant, why don't you go ask for sex to some other inferior human being instead of the one that rejected you?' He said crossing his arms, bothered by Jaehyun's words.
'Are you jealous?' He asked, a cocky smile on his face.
'I'm not! Go fuck someone else and let me leave in fucking peace!' Tasting got up and left. Rage evident in his face.
Jaehyun just smirked to himself as he saw the older leaving. He shamelessly stared at his ass and licked his lips.
Bet you'd look cute in a cage, being my little toy. Only for me to play with.
Taeyong wandered around the streets, he was supposed to be heading home, but his head was busy with something else.
'Don't you realise, Taeyong? You have the power to prevent people's deaths!'
Mark's words resonated in his head. It was true, he could save people.
But, what kind of human am I if I can't even save a child?
The image of the dying child didn't leave Taeyong alone.
I can't let him die! That's unfair, he's just a child! He can't die like that! But I can't just go there... What if they recognise me? Plus, I barely remember anything from the place... what if I get lost?
...
Fuck it.
Taeyong turned around and confidently changed his destination, heading to the castle.
He wanted to avoid being caught at all costs, so he tried as hard as he could to remember that hidden way he'd used so many times when he was a child.
He walked between the trees that surrounded the castle, hiding under the shadows and being careful not to make much noise. He advanced when the guards that were near weren't looking. Once he reached the castle's external walls he inspected the place, trying to figure which part of the castle he'd reached. He walked along the tall wall in silence until he heard some noise.
There were horses near, they were being fed and taken care of.
Fuck... I must have missed it.
He remembered the door was before the place where they kept the horses. He went back, looking carefully everywhere, until he found a bush touching the wall. He cocked an eyebrow and with his hands he tried to move the bush's branches a little to see what was behind.
Found it.
He struggled against the spiky bush that made tiny cuts in his hands, nonetheless he managed to find the lock. It was locked. However, the wood of the tiny door was in such a bad state Taeyong only had to push a little for it to break. He crouched down and pushed the ruined door aside.
The passage was dark and very small. He had to walk on all fours to get inside. As he crawled he felt the humidity of the floor dirtying his clothes. He swung his hand in front of himself before moving forward to get rid of the spiderwebs that blocked the way. He was okay with getting his clothes dirty, but he wasn't okay with having his face covered in spiderwebs and other stuff.
His hand swung and he touched something... hairy. Both him and whatever he had just touched jumped on their places. The thing let out a high pitched yell and went away, hurting Taeyong's poor eardrums. He gathered the courage to continue his way although he sometimes bumped his head against the irregular stones on the top. He wasn't used to this, last time he sneaked into the castle he was way smaller and he could perfectly fit in the tiny tunnel.
His hand finally touched something that sounded like wood. He touched around to find a way to open it, but he found none. He decided to do it the hard way and just use all of his strength to push.
He didn't succeed so, before giving up and going back, he raised his fist and made it collide against the door, breaking it as it was old and deteriorated.
Something broke, and he decided to push again. Something moved slightly, but it was so heavy and difficult to move. He didn't give up until a bit of light sneaked into the tunnel. There was some piece of furniture blocking the exit, he pushed enough to leave a small space. It was very small, but it was big enough for a skinny person to go through it.
He got out of that gross place, sneaking inside the castle. The broken wood hurt his skin a little, but at this point he didn't even care.
Once he was completely in he looked around. He was in the middle of a long corridor. He pushed the piece of furniture back to its place to cover the tunnel he came from and looked around not to get caught by any guards.
He closed his eyes for a second to recall the image he'd seen of the kid's death, trying to figure out where it was. He let his heart lead him, between the death vision and the memories that still remained in his head from when he was a kid he made his way until he finally saw him.
He reached out his hand to tap on his shoulder, but a voice stopped him.
'Well, well... Look who has come to pay me a visit...'
