Fare sat on the couch in her pajamas. Her pillow was off to the side and a blanket pooled around her waist. Agatha's sudden arrival in Meridia dredged up insecurities and fears that she had. After an hour of talking and yelling, Fare felt emotionally raw and exposed. She wanted nothing more to put Agatha on the next train to Larkston and have her not attend the meeting with Novus, but Agatha insisted that she could help gather information on Kila's case. She was reluctant, but she agreed. Fare looked towards her bedroom. She had given Agatha her bed while she took the couch. She could not help, but wonder if she was asleep. Fare knew that sleep would be troublesome for her that night and secretly hoped that it would be the same for Agatha. Her nights were solely invaded by thoughts of Kila and even Meridia's discord for the last month. Fare began to lie down and closed her eyes. She waited for sleep to take her.

Fare crouched in front of a filing cabinet with several lock picks. She had worked on opening the drawers for the last ten minutes. Her head was covered by the hood of her jacket. While she was not concerned about the security cameras she had disabled prior to entering the building, she still wanted to take extra precautions. When the lock finally turned, Fare felt her phone vibrate in her back pocket. She was prepared to decline the call until she saw the caller ID and sighed.
"Kila, I'm sort of in the middle of something."
Fare placed the phone on her shoulder and began to sort through the files. "
I'm sorry- wait, what are doing? Are you stealing something again? Fare, you're not on the streets anymore."
She rolled her eyes. This was the main topic of many of their arguments.
"You can take the girl off the streets, but you can't take the streets out of the girl. Besides, I am following a lead on my past."
There was a pause and Fare looked up from what she was doing because she thought that the call disconnected.
"Kila-?"
"Fare, you know that we are your family right?"Her heart clenched and she swallowed hard, "I know. It's just...you don't know what its like. The constant wondering. I need this. I can't remember anything before you, Aggie, and Michael. Fae memories are stronger than that of a human's. I should be able to recall things from as early as one, but I don't. I just want to know why."
Fare heard her sigh on the other side. She knew that Kila was taking a few calming breaths. Her sister hated that she always put herself in dangerous circumstances. Fare was in one of the Truthfall archives in their hometown and broke into locked filing cabinets. She constantly reminded Kila that she does the same thing for her job when it came to information and Fare was always put in her place by a stern look. She knew that it was just Kila being the protective big sister.
"Did you need something Kila or did you just call to give me an earful?"
Kila sighed again, "I called for advice."
Fare was shocked. It was usually her calling for advice.
"Okay?"
"I came across some important information and I need to know how to keep it safe."
Fare sat on the floor, "Is it paper or electronic?"
"Paper. Its bound like you would for legal documents."
