"I'm scared." I announced, biting down on my already torn up nails. "It's just school, no big deal, you act like you've never been to school before." Luke said, parking in his reserved spot, before getting out of the car and coaxing me out of the parking lot.

"If I did I can't remember," I mumbled loud enough for Luke to hear too.
Luke mentally face palmed. Sometimes he forget that I didn't remember much from my past life and it made him feel bad. He gave me a sheepish smile before grabbing my hand and pulling me out of the passenger seat.

I let my eyes wander to the building in front of me. It was red brick, looming so high I couldn't see the top of it, even when I squinted. The grass around the building was trimmed to perfection and was the most perfect shade of green it was hard to tell if it was even real grass. Kids were scattered around the courtyard, all clad in uniforms.

I looked down at my own attire. I wore black jeans with a plain black tshirt and black vans. I knew I was going to turn heads, and I wasn't sure if it was going to be for the best or worst.

Luke patted my back, a confident smile evident on his face. "You'll be fine, Michael. Let's go sign you up."

He moved his hand to the upper part of my arm and steered me towards the front doors. All heads turned to us and I could feel the world still for a while.

Luke didn't notice because soon enough everyone started greeting him as if they were his best friend, Luke only giving them a nod of his head in acknowledgment. I turned to him in surprise, I didn't know he was that popular.

He continued to steer me through the dark blue corridors that reeked of lemon cleaning supplies and eraser shavings. He finally stopped at a dark brown door and I sighed in relief that he finally stopped the fast paced walk he had going on.

He pushed open the door and walked through, greeting the lady at the front desk by her name. "Hey Deborah, Michael here is new and he needs to be enrolled, could you please get him the paperwork?"

Deborah stopped tapping her neon fake nails against the keyboard to stare at us both. She seemed to be sizing us up with her eyes, scrutinizing every one of our flaws.

"One second." She said, before pushing her large self out of the rolly chair she was situated in and waddling into another room.

I sent Luke a fearful glance and he sent me a reassuring smile back. Minutes passed before Deborah returned, a packet of papers clutched tightly in her hand.

"Just fill these out and we'll get you situated." Deborah said, handing me the papers, then miraculously squeezing herself into the chair she was in recently, turning her attention back to the monitor in front of her.

I took the papers from her and turned around, walking to one of the many chairs lined up in the office and taking a seat, Luke doing the same.

I stared down at the paper and furrowed my eyebrows in confusion. My address? I had none to call my own, I didn't even know Luke's. Date of birth? I didn't know that either.

This is it, I could start over right now. "What do you want your last name to be, Michael?" I thought it over for a second and finally said "Clifford."

Luke stifled a laugh, "Like the big red dog?"
"I have no idea what you're talking about Luke, just write it down." Luke held his hands up in mock surrender before jotting down the name.

We ended up making a fake birthday for me (February 2nd) and said I had an extreme allergy to peanuts. It was quite fun joking around with Luke about who I was, even if I did feel a little bad about not knowing anything about myself, in time I will.

Half an hour later we finished and turned into Deborah, who has not moved one bit since we got there.
"Do you have money for the uniform? You can't wear that." Deborah said, giving me a scrutinizing once over.

"I-" "I got it." Luke interrupted, slapping a few hundred dollar bills onto the counter. "Get him a few sets, he's a medium in jeans and a small in shirts."

She huffed, obviously not used to having to get up so much and left once again, returning a few moments later with several uniforms.

I thanked and her and asked politely where the restroom was. She pointed to a door and I thanked her once again, going into it and changing my outfits.

I stared at myself for a while, feeling out of place in my preppy uniform. I stared down at my brown sperry shoes and frowned, I didn't want to be here. I didn't feel like I'd fit in. I don't want to be made fun of.

I sighed, leaving the restroom and returning to Luke. "Here's your schedule, Deborah printed it out while you where changing, we have Math and English together! Your first period is Psychology, sorry, there wasn't a lot of choices left." Luke gave me an apologetic smile.

"It's okay, I don't mind, let's just go already." I said pulling on his arm. He allowed me to lead him out the door and into the hallway. "Okay so I think Psychology is over-" Luke didn't finish as a girl crashed into us, sending me stumbling back a few steps.

She looked at us wide eyed and scared, us staring back. She brown hair and she was quite short. But what caught my attention was her eyes. Eyes that looked just like mine.

I blacked out before I knew it.
