A Chosen Mistake

Chapter Three

I wake up to the dim sunlight
 
I get up to get ready
 
I go into my closet grabbing my things after I'm done getting ready
 
I pack my things and all my items and things

packing them

and I just observe the room 

My mom knocks on the door coming in
 
Mom: hey.... 
 
jay: hey mom

She looks at me awkwardly 

mom: you okay

jay: yes 

Jay: are you okay

mom: y-yeah I'm okay

I look at her weirdly

mom: I promise I'm okay

jay: Mhm
  
mom: soo...are you nervous for your first day
 
jay: yeah
 
mom:well youre going to make new friends

Jay: I know

mom: you're 14 jay you haven't had friends in 8 years

jay:seriously man

mom: I know but this is a fresh start

jay: I guess

mom: be happy about it the other schools you'd get in too much trouble I know it

Jay: okay....

Mom: come on get your stuff it's time

I get my things and we head out

I see Darren walking downstairs

jay: why is he coming

She looks at me and looks at him

mom: jay he's going to be around for a while

jay: where did I go wrong in this world Mann I say quietly 

We walk out the door

I open the trunk and put my things inside

I get in the car and she makes sure everything is okay and starts the car
 
we drive off from home

as were driving I look out the window and see the beautiful sky

I take a pic

As we cross the highway I see people smiling and other kids and families
 
wonder what that feels like to have knowing my dad is gone

I'm gonna take my mind of that

we arrive at the train station and I take my things out

As I'm walking I see people

I've heard about this thing where when you come here you go through a wall or something like that

My mom looks at me tearing up

mom: u have grown so much you're gonna be 15 

jay: I know

Mom: I'm gonna miss you

jay:ur gonna miss me like actually me

mom: yes I am we have some memories together

jay: yeah we do in fact

mom: I love you so much
 
jay: I love you too
 
she walks up slowly and she hugs me
 
mom: I love you jay she whispers
 
I hug her back

she let's go and looks in my eyes 

mom: be safe jay

jay: I know I say looking down
