I'm sitting in my sixth period waiting for the bell to ring when I get a text. I smile when I see who it's from.
Jake:
"Let's hang out after school. Pleaseeeeee. :)"
Me:
"Sure. What are we going to do?"
Jake:
"How am about we go get In N' Out, then eat and do homework at the park. Is that okay?"
Me:
"Sounds great! :)"

When bell rang me and Jake met outside by our cars. We always park next to each other. We decided that we would both go through the In N' Out Drive Thru and then meet at the park.

I arrived at the park a little after Jake When I got there he was already sitting under a tree on a blanket. I sit down next to him,he scoots closer, and puts his arm around me and I flinch from the huge bruise on my back.
"What's wrong?" He asks, sounding worried.
"Nothing. Just a bruise on my back."
"How'd you get it?"
"Hit my back on something." I said simply. Talking about this makes me really nervous.
We started eating our In N' Out and doing our homework. And then the sprinklers turn on. We put our homework away so it wouldn't get wet and then he pulled me up to my feet and we ran into the sprinklers and started dancing around in them. He grabbed both of my hands and we just stood there looking each other in the eyes. We stood there for what seemed like forever. I didn't know what to do so I decided to hug him.
"What was that for?" he laughed.
"For being my best friend." I replied and smiled up at him.
He hugged me tighter and kissed the top of my head.
"You're welcome." he said with a smile.
