As I backed my truck out of the garage, I noted two unknown vehicles parked next to Fawn's decimated little car. Sitting on the front steps of my porch was two of Nolan's Enforcers: Jack Wolfson and Otto Slayer. Each were heavily armed with high-powered rifles and side arms.

I heard them pull up my drive about six o'clock this morning. They're here because Alena told Nolan that Lola needed protection while I was at work.

I didn't like any of Nolan's Enforcers but Jack and Otto are, by far, better to deal with than Phillip or James. And I may not like the Enforcers, but I did feel better leaving Lola to go to work knowing that someone was here and she wasn't alone.

I put my truck in park, let the motor continue to run and got out of my vehicle to take a better look at Fawn's car. I have to admit, it was impressive in the daylight. I walked over to the completely destroyed car and ignored the two Enforcers on the porch steps.

When Benji and Jarhead came over yesterday to help me and Ancel board up the windows, the four of us stood around this little automobile and stared at it in utter amazement.

How can anyone Morpher do this kind of damage?

I slowly walked around the car making mental notes of how each damaged area came to be according to Lola and Fawn who were there and witnessed it. I ran my hand along the flailed-out side of what used to be the hood that was now severely 'V'ed in the middle. I tried to calculate the amount of pressure that would be needed to cause such damage, but all I kept continuing to come up with in my mind was anything but realistic.

The roof of the car was peeled back and away from its frame like a sardine can. I reached out and traced the blackened burnt looking areas on the blue metal sheeting. Each hole I touched I was able to insert my pinky finger through.

I silently shook my head remembering what Lola had said about the Dragon's acid-like drool. If it can eat through metal...then it can eat through flesh with ease.

"So, it's true then." Otto called out to me, "You contracted to fight the thing that did all that?!"

He was referring to the damage on the car.

I ignored both of them as I continued survey the damage on Fawn's car.

Now, adult Lupilors know they can be heard by other Lupilors and know and understand, it's part of who and what we are. Then you have the Enforcers, who just don't give a fuck what they say or who overhears them.

"I'm telling you, Jack, that's gonna be one Hell of a fight. Just look at that car!"

"Oh, I'll be there." Jack said, "James told me he's betting his entire paycheck on the Dragon to win."

"What?" I could hear Otto snicker, "I'd take that bet. Hundred bucks says that Lou will kick that fucker's ass."

"Lou?" Jack questioned, "That fucking asshole?"

"Asshole or not, he's not my favorite Wolf either...but I'll still put my money on him."

I turned around and faced the two Enforcers, "I'm standing right here."

"We know where you are, Slaughter." Jack sneered over towards me.

I looked from one Enforcer to the other and had nothing but contempt for both. On top of everything else, I want to win just to see the looks on all ten of the Enforcer's faces when it's announced I'm the new Alpha. Then I'm going to enjoy firing each and every one of them.
