I walk out of the district to see Adam walking across the parking lot.
"Hey" he says with a sheepish grin.
"Adam. Hey" I didn't realize how much I missed him until now, seeing him standing in front of me.
"Look, I ran from intelligence. I wasn't ready to work next to you. I'm ready now. I miss everyone up there, they're my family. I want to come back, if that's okay with you."
" Yeah!"
Yeah? You sure cause that was pretty quick."
"Yes Adam, I'm sure" I reach up and put my arms around his neck as he pulls me in for a hug. It's freezing out, but where his hands are on my hips, are on fire. I start to pull and he gives me this look. A look I've seen so many times and yet haven't seen in so long. Before I know it, he's kissing me and I'm kissing him and nothing else seems to matter.

I wake up and roll over to a room full of sunshine. I run my finger across my bottom lip, that kiss felt like a dream, but from the puffiness of my lip, I know it wasn't. Oh shit! We actually just made out and now we have to work together today. As if things weren't awkward enough between us already. This should be interesting. I let out a groan and pull my covers over my head trying to hide from the world just a little bit longer.

It hit Adam like a ton of bricks today was his first day back upstairs and today he was going to be working with her again. The person he ran away from , the person he ran home to, the person that was his home. He ran his hand over his face. HELL, how are they ever going to find a rhythm again. What is beyond him is how three months away felt like a year? Man having her lips on his again felt right, like everything was fitting together like it was supposed. Like they hoped for so many months ago..

I take a deep breath before getting out of my car, if I wasn't nervous before about working with Adam, I definitely am now. Man, I should not have kissed him, I put my head against my steering wheel. That was not my smartest move, but it's too late now to do anything. Maybe he just won't say anything about it. I collect myself and step out of my car, when I look up I see Kevin standing there, he starts to talk to me as soon as he sees me,

"You good girl? You look like you saw a ghost"
"What? Oh um yeah I'm good."
"You sure?"
"No not exactly, see I ran into Adam leaving the.."
"Hey Ruz! Welcome back!" Kev hollers past me, I turn to see Adam walking up to us as I turn back around, I mouth thank you to Kev and he just nods.
"Hey guys! I'm so happy to be back" Adam says as him and Kev do one of those bro hug things.
"Well as fun as this reunion is, I'm going to head upstairs."
"She's still showing up early every day and staying late every night" Kev chimes in.
"Relax Burgess, you belong up there" Adam says and I swear it feels like he is staring into my soul as he says this.
" You do too," I say as I walk away and head upstairs.

I swear if I stood there any longer with Adam staring at me like that, the whole district would see me jumping his bones. God I gotta get these thoughts of him out of my head, I need to focus on intelligence and making sure Voight doesn't regret moving me up. I definitely don't need any distractions.

Kevin watched the two of them from afar. His two best friends truly did love each other more than life itself. Now it was time for them to finally get their act together and finally get their happily ever after. If he knew anything about this job he knew how badly you need stability and for the two of them that was each other.
