"order up!" the tall blonde's voice rang through the cafe.

the cafe was the one place that no matter how chaotic, was still her safe haven. She was Trixie Mattel, a struggling folk musician who loved iced coffee just as much as she did a good song or new guitar.

"that's mine thank you," she said with a smile.

"wrote any good ones lately?" the blonde barista asked.

"why don't you come to a show and find out?" trixie teased.

the blonde laughed, "maybe so, if they ever give me a day off."

trixie grabbed her cup, "bye katya."

trixie had been a regular at the small town coffee shop for years. katya was from out of town, but moved for college and worked at the coffee shop part time. she took interest in trixie but decided to keep it under wraps.

"hey boss,
you think maybe i can take the night off?" katya said.

"oh yea sure! why dont i take the night off too and we just close up the shop?" he said.

"are you serious?" she questioned excitedly.

"really kat? get back to work."
