"I know it was always you, Natasha. It was you from the very beginning; the reason why the plane went down and why I survived the ice. It all led up to me meeting you." Steve murmured, his hand cupping her jaw as he pressed his forehead to hers. Even though her eyes swam with tears, she could still see him so clearly. "There's no one I'm more proud to stand beside, no one who deserves the world that I will try my absolute hardest to give to you and our baby. You walked straight through hell with a smile, saved thousands of lives, rebuilt a city, yet here I am... a mere man... who has the honor of loving you every moment of every day in this lifetime and every lifetime after this."

She longed to implore him to see that she was the one honored to be marrying him, but she didn't want to cut off his vow. After all, she had forever to convince him that he was worthy.

Entirely worthy.

"We could be somewhere and nowhere yet still be sitting on top of the world with a love like this. It's a hell of a view simply because I'm looking at you. You are my soulmate, Natasha; my sweetheart and my dream come true. I give my heart and soul to you willingly, and I promise to love you that not even death will do us part. I promise to show you how beautiful you are, to kiss away your tears and always stand by your side. I am truly the luckiest guy in the world... it's always been you, Natasha Romanoff, and I love you."

Natasha awoke with a start as his vow ended, reaching for her husband subconsciously only to find his side of the bed empty and cold. She pulled her hand back and ran her thumb over the diamond ring on her finger that caught the morning sunlight peeking through the curtains. A small smile tugged at the corner of her lips as she recalled the night they hurried to the church to wed just days after Steve landed in Moscow. She had been wearing sandals and a simple white dress while Steve had worn a button-down and jeans, looking just as breathtaking as if he'd worn a suit and tie or just rolled out of bed. They had run into the church, laughing breathlessly and looking just like the lovestruck couple they really were. They had been expecting a pastor to wed them and strangers as their witnesses but when they finally looked away from one another to look around the church, they found Nick Fury dressed in his best and their friends seated in the pew.

She had nearly squealed with excitement and no one could stop smiling as Nick Fury officiated their wedding with their friends watching and cheering obnoxiously as they shared their first kiss as husband and wife.
