Cain's POV

It's already 8pm. Ava's not home yet. She didn't even left a message where she was going. She didn't bring any body guards with her as well so I don't know where the hell is my wife.

Cortis is already sleeping. He's been crying since I got home.

"Sir, Mrs. Marquis just arrived." Jacky said.

I'm standing at the balcony inside our room. I can see her going out of the car and walking inside.

When she got inside, I removed my hands from the rails and walked inside. The door opened as Ava walked in.

"Marquis...."

She walks closer to me. She was about to give me a kiss but I held her arms tightly.

"M-Marquis you're hurting me..."

Ava was trying to remove my hand from gripping on her shoulder but I held it more tightly.

"Where the hell have you been!?" I asked with an angry tone.

"I-I went shopping---"

"Shopping!? Then where the hell is it!? Huh? You're lying to me Ava, I can feel it " I said.

This is the first time I'm doing this to Ava. I never wanted to hurt her like this but she left me no choice.

"I-I'm not lying Marquis! Please, let me go!"

I remover my hand from her shoulder since she's hurting. I tried to calm myself.

I looked into her eyes.

"Are you cheating on me Ava!?" I asked.

"N-no! Y-You know I can't do that Marquis. I-I can't cheat on you---"

"Bullshit then why are you always away!? Do you think I have no idea!? I've been monitoring you ever since we got back from our trip! You're always out with no reason. " i said.

"Tell me the truth, are you cheating on me!?" I asked again.

"You know what, I don't care whatever you say. I don't have any idea what you're talking about and clearly, I'm not cheating on you. You know I'll never do that."

She picked up her bag that fell on the floor.

"I'm sleeping in Milan's room. Good night, Marquis----"

Before she turned her back on me, I pulled her closer and kissed her right away.

She suddenly pushed me away from her.

"This isn't working, Marquis. I don't want to do this right now. " She said with angry tone.

"Ava! Get back here---"

I wasn't able to finish what I was saying when she got out and slammed the door.

Ava's POV

"Hey...." Bungad ni Noah.

Kakagising ko lang at dumeretso agad ako sa dining area. 

Naupo ako sa harapan nito. Binaba niya naman yung ipad na hawak niya.

"We need to be in the clinic at exactly 9am later." Sabi pa nito.

Kinuha ko yung maple syrup and inispread sa pancake.

"Clinic? Why are you sick?" Tanong ko rito.

Natawa naman ito. Tumayo naman ito at nilipat yung upuan sa tabi ko. Hinawakan niya yung kamay ko na nakapatong sa table.
