Fate?

"Dreams are just temporary escape from reality yet I wish it doesn't need to be temporary..."

[Reana's POV]

I really wished that; that I have someone with me, to love me from this darkness I'm having. Ever since this pandemic started, I had to stay in my house. I can't go out because I'm scared. I'm no longer the social and extroverted person I once was. This whole pandemic hurt me, killed my feelings like it's nothing. The past year was so rough for everyone, riots and rallies, shortages and needs, sickness and death. I live alone because I moved to study for a far away college university yet this lockdown struck and came like a relationship that didn't need to go to end and fall esleway. It's already midnight and all I could think of is the losses and mistakes that I wish to rewrite. I should have not moved far away from my family and now with money and sadness I shall pay. All I wish was happiness yet yet now I'm here in the darkness. Well I guess it's time to sleep... for the second week of lockdown has begun, and starting today I guess my feelings are just to none...

Reana went to her bed, weeping from her sadness. She couldn't take her useless emotions any more, that's just full of sadness and loneliness, doubt and negativity. She laid as she threw her pillows down to the floor, her feelings full of doubt and regret; covered herself with her blanket, as she opened her phone to try to cheer up and forget. She suddenly went to sleep as her surroundings were dark. She then sees that her background was a blue sky, pure white clouds like she's in heaven yet why is her body with her and why is she conscious? She starts to look and walk around, it's peaceful and she walks on the clouds like some people imagine of heaven. She then sees a playground with a person riding on a swing on top of a thick cloud. A person with hair matching the pure clouds that she's walking on. She went closer and closer as she would see the person, sad and down like her.

Reana:

Um hello? Who are you?

Joshua:

Oh hello, I'm Joshua...

Reana:

Hi Joshua, I'm Reana-

Joshua:

Look, I appreciate you appearing here for some random reason yet I want to be alone, escape from the reality I'm having and hopefully live here in this plain sky dream I've wanted alone, or now I'm sharing it with someone I know less...

Reana:

Dream? Umm why won't you cheer up?

Joshua:

Says you who I can tell is worn out from overthinking and swallowed by the loneliness in the dark... Why are you here and what do you want?

Reana:

I remembered I just went to sleep and just opened my consciousness here...

Joshua:

Well our consciousness does wake up even when asleep, well only in dreams like this of course if I remember right.

Reana:

... How about we play and have fun? That would cheer you up right?

Joshua:

Sigh, I wanted to be alone yet okay fine. How about playing catch and throw instead, I have a baseball with me?

Reana:

Sure!

They played catch and throw along the vast sky and clouds. They were both sad at the beginning yet Reana's feelings changed as she was enlightened by the happiness she's having. Joshua stared at her smile as he began to show his. They both laughed and smiled as the sky became dark... They even played tag as they would walk over the clouds of the sky... They would chase each other back and forth like it's never ending. They soon eventually stopped as they both felt tired...

Joshua:

You're a nice person to be with, I'm sorry for the misjudgement.

Reana:

Aww you're a nice person too and it's okay, I understand since we just met and this is not really reality right?

Joshua:

I've only been experiencing this for a little while so I think this is all just a dream, like a dream world...?

Reana:

That's cool to be honest.

Joshua:

Yeah it certainly is.

Reana:

Why is the sky getting dark?

Joshua:

Oh... I guess I'll see you sometime again... Thanks for today...

Reana:

You're welcome- wait what do you mean sometime again? WAIT JOSHUA, WAIT-

Beep beep beep~

She tried to reach his hand to reach for him yet everything went to darkness, for seconds it was dark then she realized her eyes were closed. She opened her eyes to see and hear her alarm in her phone, beeping as it was 7am in the morning. She looked around to see her room, she opened the curtain to see the sky above and the streets with less to no people. She remembered her with Joshua, she realized they really met in a dream. She looked at her mirror and said...

"I wished our dreams were also a reality..."

She then ate her breakfast and remembered everything that she had dreamt of...

"Is there really a good reality? Does all good things have to be in dreams?"

She went back to bed as she cried over her doubts and regrets yet she would cry less as she continued to remember her happiness with him, with Joshua... she would wonder if they have some connection for it's possible to have mutual or shared dreams yet she wondered because they have no connections in real life. They're not siblings nor family nor close friends... What is this fate? She thought as she's having an eerie feeling and she would just say to herself...

"What's the universe doing to me now...?"
