The night my Mom died, I was really depressed for quite a long time, until some people were welcomed into the camp but also a girl. She was pretty as a rose, she reminded of how life used to be...before the war started. I gave her some money, she said, "Thanks" and I replied, "Yeah no problem". Besides, she knew a lot of things I didn't like how guns are assembled and such. My Dad quickly stood up on top a crate yelling, " OK everyone, since you guys are part of our camp, I would like to welcome you guys and join us for some food and water!". After that, we all went to the huge long table and we all sat down. Of course, a gentleman I still am, I pulled out the chair for the girl and let her sit down. Then I sat down beside her. We all started eating. I momentarily asked, "So whats your name?" and she replied, "Alyssa". I stated, "That's a beautiful name". She replied, "Thanks". With smile on her face asked, "Can I tell you something?" and I replied back, "Sure". I thought she was going to ask for a proposal, "...Are you going to eat that?" with the grin I had on my face, it went down to a broken smile, "Yeah...sure". I was quiet for a while. Later that night I sat in my room for a while and remembered it was her birthday tomorrow, she was going to turn 17. I thought to myself, I should give her something. Then I thought I should give her my pistol. It seemed better than nothing. Then my dad knocked on my door, "Hey J we were supposed to go scavenging for supplies..be ready in five". I grabbed my bow and my AK47u went off to scavenge. When me and my Dad were walking I stumbled upon something so great, a teddy bear. Then I thought I should give that to Alyssa. Meanwhile, my dad looking for ammunition he came across a shopping cart, it had all sorts of guns in it. At first we thought it was a trap but reconsidered. We brought it back to the camp and unpacked it. My Dad saying, "Thanks J" and I replied, "You're welcome". I ran up back to my room and set everything down and went to bed.
