The Last Fight - Metro 13

Prologue

On the brink of 2055, the world was in collapse. No oil, no food, no shelter. World War III began five years ago, the United States got hit with 12 nukes around the country. My girlfriend and I were the only ones left, they died from either being too hungry, injured or got killed by the foreign, the terrorists. During that time, I was in school, I was 15 and was really fortunate. My family was there for me when I needed them and supported me with food and other things. One day during school, the news was saying some attack on the Washington D.C. was imminent. This was a bigger attack than 911 so it seemed. We had no idea this was coming.These "terrorist" dropped a nuke on Washington D.C later on during the day. The president of course was kept safe in a vault underground. They had 11 more nukes targeted on the bigger capitals of many states.  Every country had to be careful of what was happening outside our front step. So one day after school, of course it was the weekend, the terrorist dropped the other nukes that night and would send infantry to secure our country to their liking, probably changing the government. Everyone was in panic. Everyone was told to take shelter, the terrorist were coming. There were raids all over the country... it was more like Black Friday. We had to stock up on guns, hunting rifles, gas masks, ammunition, even food. Some guy on the radio was broadcasting some sort of message, he said "The fallout is coming so we have to stay underground even if it means our basements!". So that's what everyone had to do, moments later he exclaimed, "Be careful the monsters might be out to get ya! Also be careful of that green stuff, it might take your skin right off!". Then it went all static. Some guy came over to us and said, " I think you guys are better off living in this here shelter." He pointed towards it. It was a metro, of course way back in my day there was no metro  in this city. Suddenly, we saw airplanes fly past us, they were about to drop a nuke on us. All the people started to panic. The one guy yelled, " GET ON THE METRO IF YOU WANT TO SURVIVE THIS....APOCALYPSE! ". Everyone rushed to it. There only a small amount of time before the it hit. Everyone was all crowded down there no one could get through. The nuke was just about to hit. We had no time to dilly dally. So we rushed down there and made but the others were still trying to get through. They were probably going to die. We ran down there with a few other people and the rest all got left behind. Suddenly, all we heard was screams that could be heard throughout the entire metro. Then it was quiet.
