Chapter 3: The Start Of A Legendary Career

5 years later(Kendrick is 10 years old)

I quickly perfected my skills while playing for Orion FC's youth teams and training in their youth academy. In fact, I played so well that it was decided that I would accompany the Orion FC Under-15 and Under-17 teams to a friendly tournament against other Super League Clubs such as Barka, Supa Strikas, Colossus and Hydra. 

The tournament has started and the first match is Orion FC vs Hydra. I was a substitute in this match as it is an Under-17 match. However, I will be allowed to play in the next one. Orion FC wins the match after a sole penalty goal by their midfielder. Unfortunately, our striker was injured, which gave us the penalty, which our midfielder converted. This means that there is a vacant spot on the first team and I hope that I will be able to play in it. 

Our next match is against Supa Strikas. I have just learnt that Supa Strikas have also brought one of their youth academies players, Ronnie. 

I have got some good news. I will be playing in the team as the first-choice striker. I cannot wait and I am very excited about this news.

2 hours later

Our match is going to start now and so will my debut. We get to kick off the match. Oh no, the Supa Strikas academy player is also playing. I have got to be better than him or else we have no chance. I first use my skills to move past all the midfielders and then send a long through ball to our second striker, James. He gets it and slaloms through the Supa Strikas defence and then shoots but the goalie manages to get a hand to it and pushes it out for a corner kick. Then, James sends in a knuckleball corner which I volley and it goes past the keeper. I have just scored on my debut. I and Jamie keep on scoring goals. We score so many goals that by the end of the first half, it is already 6-0. We both have got hattricks. Our coach decides that he will sub us out in the 75th minute. By the 75th minute, we both have already scored two more goals each and it turns into a goal-fest. Both me and James have scored 5 goals each. We are then subbed out. The game ends at the scoreline of 10-0 in the favour of Orion FC. 

The remaining two matches of the group stage continue in this way. In fact, we have scored double the goals of the other three clubs combined! At the end of the group stage, the top scorers were me and Jamie with 19 goals each. The four teams going into the semi-finals of the friendly tournament were Orion FC, Barka, Technicali and Invincible United. We were facing Invincible United in the semi-finals while Barka was facing Technicali. We managed to beat Invincible United, however, it was pretty hard. We only won 1-0 and I scored the lone goal. Technicali managed to beat Barka 2-0. We were in the final against Technicali. This was one of the hardest games in my career as Technicali were good at pressing and could get the ball back very fast. However, I managed to score in the 57th minute with a humongous volley that somehow beat the keeper. That was actually supposed to be a cross to Jamie but I misjudged the angle and accidentally shot it at the keeper. We won the game 1-0 and we won the Super League friendly tournament. 

Individual Awards Ceremony

I won all of the awards available to me. I won the Golden Boot, the Golden Ball, the Best Player, the Best Young Player, the Best Striker and the Best Young Striker.
