edgar valden x baker! reader.

A very late valentines prompt.

-

Edgar was... very picky.

A picky eater.

A picky artist.

A picky team mate.

It made it hard for both Edgar and the others to become friends, every small comment from his lips turns into a huge argument.

A lot disliked him.

But a certain baker did not.

they were always gentle with their words, patient with others and always broke up a fight whenever Emily is not around.

A soft hum was heard in the kitchen, the sweet scent of chocolate cake escaping through the doorway that attracted a few survivors that was passing by.

"Woah! (Y/n)! preparing for Valentines day already?" An acrobat questioned, jumping inside the kitchen to witness the heavenly cake on the counter.

"Silly, it's Valentines day today, don't tell me you forgot.." They replied, letting the cake cool down, swatting Mike's hand from reaching it.

"I guess Mike's been busy lately ~ so who's your valentine?" He asked, reaching out for the cake only to be smacked lightly again.

"I don't really know... Is it really a requirement to have one?" They questioned back, tilting their head a bit with confusion written on their face.

"Yeah~ totally~" Mike was already eating a slice, the baker only sighed in defeat as the acrobat managed to distract them from the cake.

It was 11:32 pm.

The grandfather clock on the hall seemed to moved slower than usual, the baker was cleaning up after the party and most of the survivors had already retired for the night.

Their thoughts then wandered off to a certain painter that didn't appear at the party, sure it wasn't unusual because he once said that he disliked being with "Plebeians" or "Commoners" but the baker felt like he was avoiding everyone.

He didn't appear at breakfast until dinner so it made them worried for his health, a sigh escaped through their lips before finishing off.

After cleaning, they went to the kitchen and prepared a small meal for the painter, it was almost midnight so having a heavy meal wouldn't provide him proper sleep.

They narrowed everything down into a simple cream soup with bread, a small pouch filled with different kinds of sweets they had made was resting next to it on the tray.

Writing a small note, they then went to Edgar's room, giving three knocks and leaving the food tray on the table next to the doorway.

After they had left to retire to their own room, the painter opened the door with a frown.

He looked around the empty halls before stopping infront of the food tray, a small smile crept up his tear stained face upon seeing the note.

"Happy Valentines Day, Edgar.

Please eat the food and sweets on the tray, I was worried that you didn't eat anything throughout the whole day so I decided to bring some to you. I hope the food hasn't gone cold by the time you read this letter, eat well!

P.s. don't eat the sweets all at once, you'll get a tooth ache if you did.

-from, (Y/n)."

The brunette neatly folded the letter and scoffed but the gentle smile on his face indicated he was happy.

"This.... commoner." He murmured, walking back inside his room with the tray on his hand.
