luca balsa x investigator!reader.

“He's staring again, isn't he..” (Y/n) muttered earning a small nod from Patricia who was sitting next to them.
Luca Balsa... or the "Prisoner" had been boring holes through the back of their head which made them slightly ticked off, he had been doing this ever since they had arrived at the manor.
All he do is stare and give sideway glances, never bothering to initiate a conversation and always ran away whenever the investigator tries to question him.
it was very annoying.
But (Y/n) could only sigh in defeat, as much as they would like answers from the lazy eyed man, they knew fully well that he wouldn't be willing to say anything.
A few survivors teased both of them, saying things like “maybe it was love at first sight!” “maybe he likes you but is too shy to admit it!”.
And no, it did not help and only made everything much more awkward than it is.
The investigator had also resolved into avoiding the brunette but every time they take a turn from one of the many hallways, they would bump to each other as if fate wanted them to keep meeting in different kinds of scenario.
There was also this one time Luca kept glancing at (Y/n) to the point where he missed a calibration and had to kite the ripper throughout the whole match.

'Why am I matched with him....ʼ the (h/c)-nette internally groaned, tapping hastily on the table as they eyed their team mate who seems to do the same.
They were taking William's place as a rescuer, the Forward had a sudden fever and the lack of available rescuers led to them sitting in the waiting room with the "Prisoner".
Eli walked in with his companion resting on his shoulder, he greeted the two with a sweet smile and a small nod before sitting.
Lastly, Vera came in a slightly dishevelled state. she apologized quickly saying there had been problems regarding a certain cowboy bothering her so she had to resort to some... solutions.
Not wanting to question any further, all of them pressed ready and prepared themselves for the match.
The investigator had panted as they ran around the walls, they were in the Red Church. the most fucking annoying map with it's fragile walls and labyrinth like layout.
To add salt to the wound, our dear (Y/n) is currently hiding from the Bloody Queen.
They tried to steady their breathing to not alert the hunter who was humming a soft tune nearby, they waited and waited but the queen seems to not leave.
Before the crows gather above their head, a gloved hand pulled them behind a large chunk of rock on the side of the map.
It was Luca.
His eyes were focused around their surroundings, arms on both sides of the investigator, caging them in between.
“I think were fine now-” The decoder whispered, quickly facing them.
They stared at each other for a few minutes until the silence had become uncomfortable.
“So... are you going to let me heal you or not?” the brunette questioned, an unreadable expression displayed on his face.
Finally snapping out of their thoughts, their cheeks warmed up before nodding in concent. It was the first time they had a conversation so it surely took them by surprise.
The two stayed together throughout the whole match, managing to get a three-man win with only Vera getting sent back to the manor.

The sudden interaction gained the attention of a few survivors, especially the perfumer who seemed to be expecting everything.
“Sorry (Y/n) for leading the hunter to you!” Vera apologized in a sorry tone but the mischievous glint in her brown orbs says otherwise.
It's going to be a long night for the investigator... so they better prepare a cup of coffee for that.
