Christmas Eve Night. 11pm
Louis walked over to the couch and plopped down next to Abbie sticking his lower lip out.
"Oh, Lou." Abbie laughed. "What's wrong?"
"Nobody is coming for Christmas!" He whined.
"What? Why not? I thought your mom and sisters were coming in tonight."
"A massive storm just blew in at Doncaster and all the roads are closed."
"Will they be able to make it anytime later Christmas afternoon?"
"If the roads get cleared, but knowing Doncaster...they won't be cleared for a while."
He sighed and rested his head on Abbie's shoulder.
"I'm sorry, babe."
"All I wanted was to have a nice family Christmas here in London for the FIRST time at my place. Together with my mom and sisters, and..." He smiled and looked into Abbie's eyes. "You."
Abbie blushed and looked down at her hands.
"But." Louis said jumping up. "I guess it's just going to be me and you!"
"Well," Abbie said jumping up next to him. "What do you want to do?"
Louis stood there pretending to think with his arms crossed and a very not-so-serious look on his face.
Then, he gasped, "I know! Let's make some cookies for Santa!"
He took off into the kitchen almost slipping on the tile floor.
"Be careful, Lou!" Abbie yelled shaking her head.
"Okay, so." Louis had his head in the refrigerator and his bum sticking out.
Abbie took a quick picture and posted it to Twitter with the caption, "Lou looking for ingredients for cookies."
"Oh my, he's going to kill me." she thought.
He turned around with a gallon of milk, two cartons of eggs, flour, sugar, butter, and chocolate chips in his hands.
"Here, Louis. Let me help you."
Abbie grabbed the eggs, flour, and sugar. She knew if anything those would be the things Louis would drop.
They sat the ingredients on the island in the middle of the kitchen and started baking. Louis was cracking the eggs and stirring the butter together as Abbie was mixing the flour, sugar, and milk together.
"It's so quiet." Louis yelled. "Let's turn some music on."
Louis ran into the living room and blasted Micheal Buble's Christmas album.
"It's beginning to look alot like Christmas." Lou mimicked.
Abbie shook her head.
"Oh." Louis cooed. "You are not amused."
Abbie turned to grab a spoon from the cabinet and when she turned back around she got a face full of flour.
She started to cough. "OH MY GOSH LOUIS!"
Louis was rolling on the floor. "THAT...WAS...HILARIOUS!"
"Hilarious...huh?"
Abbie walked over to the cabinet, grabbed two eggs, and casually cracked the both of them all over Louis's head.
"How do you like it?" Abbie laughed.
"Oh, you're gonna get it."
Louis grabbed the flour and started chasing Abbie around the house.
"STAY AWAY FROM ME LOU!"
Right then, Abbie jumped behind a door and was quiet as a mouse.
"Where are you, Abbie?" Louis teased.
Then, all of a sudden, Abbie sneezed.
"AHA!"
Louis ran and tackled Abbie to the floor pouring the flour all over her and the carpet.
They rolled around in flour together laughing and shoving it in each other's hair.
Finally, the fight was over and they both laid in the heap of flour trying to get their breath back.
"Well, that was fun." Abbie laughed.
"Abbie?"
"Yeah?"
"I have a surprise for you."
"Oooohh, what is it? You know I love surprises."
"Um, I think you should jump in the shower first." Louis said pulling a egg yolk out of her hair. "Then, I'll show it to you."
"Deal!" Abbie said running to the bathroom.
Abbie took a quick shower and threw on some pajamas within twenty minutes.
She walked out of the bedroom and couldn't believer her eyes.
Literally. She couldn't believer her eyes because the flat was pitch black!
"LOUIS!" Abbie screamed.
"It's okay, love." Louis took Abbie's hand. "I'm here. Just follow the sound of my voice."
Abbie baby stepped her way through wherever she was walking until finally she saw a glow coming from the dining room.
"What's going on, Lou?"
"Your surprise."
They reached the dining room and the whole place was decorated with snow. Snow was ALL OVER the floor. The ceiling. The walls. EVERYWHERE. The table was lighted with four candles and two plates were set. There was a giant bowl placed in the middle with gobs of cookies and a gallon of milk.
"Oh my gosh, Lou." Abbie smiled.
"I thought we could have a little midnight snack."
Louis wrapped his arms around her waist and rested his chin on her shoulder and whispered in her ear, "It's midnight, babe. Merry Christmas. I love you."
