Addiction
(n.) a physiological need for certain drugs.
Addiction is like a knife,
It cuts you up and let's you bleed on that floor,
It leaves you helpless.
Vulnerable.
But I see you.
I see your agony,
Your tears.
Addiction is like an abusive person,
It hits you and hurts you and leaves you for dead.
Only to come back the next day,
All,
Over,
Again.
But I see you.
I see you on the ground silently screaming out for help.
Addiction is the ink that is ingraved into your skin.
It hurts when you first start,
And it turns ugly,
It mars you,
It reminds you everyday of What it means to you.
And you feel guilty,
So you go back to it.
But I see you.
I see your bleeding heart.
I see your gurgle cries.
Addiction is a word that we use,
To put someone in a box.
When we don't want to take care of it ourselves.
We shove you off and leave you in your depression,
And I am so sorry.
But one person still sees you.
We think,
Your fine,
Go to rehab,
You will get better.
But what if the situation that started all of it doesn't?
What if you don't to get better?
Addiction is dangerous,
That is why people do it.
To have control.
To be dangerous.
