No one knows where they came from or how they got here. Centuries ago creatures were calling themselves Psynergens, a species with elemental power that they could control without issue. But like any other species, the Psynergens were outcasted by humans and were frightened of. As years went by, more and more humans were gaining trust for the species and they were even included in events, especially with the ability to use their power for entertainment.

At the time that a kingdom was built to unite humans and Psynergens together as one, leaders of both ends had gotten close, eventually joining in marriage as a final way to unite the kingdom. The human king and the Queen who was a Psynergen ruled in a way to balance for everyone. There were even talks of an offspring but was thought to be but a rumor amongst the people. The Queen showed abilities over every element of light and darkness and used them for certain things throughout the kingdom.

Every day the Queen would use her magic to cast light from a prism she placed in the tallest tower. Beams of many colors shot from the prism and throughout the kingdom to remind them of the unity of them all. One day the people were walking around as a few Psynergens did their common shows. Children of the Psynergens were learning to master their powers, although some needed more practice than others. As the people enjoyed their time, some noticed that the light hadn't come at the time it would have. This caused everyone to stop and look towards the tower, the Queen had not gone through the process and now the kingdom was alarmed and began to worry. This would turn into the kingdom's darkest day as plants around the kingdom began to wither away and the Psynergens would feel like a part of themselves had just left their bodies.

One of the Psynergens raced to the castle as many others followed him. Sometime after it was revealed that the Queen was no longer with them and war suddenly sparked with the humans and Psynergens. Blame was cast amongst both sides and the Psynergens were forced into the shadows, no longer welcome in the kingdom they originally called home.

For years the king would send guards out to kill every last Psynergen they could find until eventually, they would find no others in the area, for they had vanished. "This is why we must stay away from the creatures." A man's voice said to a young boy as he told him the story in his room. "They are dangerous and cannot be trusted among these walls." The boy nodded in silence. "Why would they kill one of their own?" The boy thought to himself. "Is it possible we had it all wrong?"

The young boy was Xavier, the prince of Astrolic, who was to be king if anything were to happen to his father. The man looked at Xavier. "My prince, you mustn't worry about those creatures." He said, noticing the prince's expression. Xavier said nothing as the man left his room and he looked around after the doors closed. He looked at another bed beside his and remembered a rather hated day for him.

A couple of years ago he was playing with another boy, his twin brother Prince Duncan, who would have originally been the one to take the throne. As they were playing they disobeyed their father's orders went beyond the walls of Astrolic and into the forest. They would run as fast as they could and even decided to play hide and seek. "Are you sure this is safe?" Xavier asked, uncertain. Duncan assured him it was fine and to stop worrying so much before rushing off to hide. As he did, Xavier closed his eyes and for a few moments. There was silence during this time and this would be the day he would remember because just before he could open his eyes, a scream would be heard and it was Duncan. Even now looking at his brother's bed, Xavier can still hear his brother screaming in the forest with no recollection of what happened afterward. His father, king of Astrolic seemed to have moved on while his son held everything inside as it slowly ate him up from inside.

Xavier decided to leave his room and exit the castle to spend time in the courtyard, where one of the gardening ladies noticed him. "Haven't seen you around here for some time my prince." She said in a calm voice as she gave a small bow. "I understand why you may have been avoiding this place." She added offering the idea that maybe this can return the peace he had lost before she walked away. Xavier looked at the garden and thought of the story when the plants withered away. The kingdom had incredible gardens but nothing ever seemed to stay growing or would be rotten before anything could be picked, even if they were supposed to be in season. A little further from the garden was the opening to the castle walls. Xavier looked at it for a while and then walked over, he wasn't thinking of going through, just wanted to know if he'd remember anything from that dreadful day.

As he neared, guards were standing at the entrance holding a creature by their arms with chains. Xavier looked at the creature in surprise, it was a young Psynergen. The guards emerged with the Psynergen, who appeared to be either angered or frightened when he looked at Xavier. The guards looked at the prince and informed him to go back to the castle and to inform his father of what happened. Xavier looked at the Psynergen for a moment and then went to get his father. "A Psynergen in the kingdom?" He asked himself as he neared the castle. He had never seen the creatures but wondered out of all the time, why come now? Or something else crossed his mind. What if the Psynergens took Duncan...or something worse?
