chapter four~ the voices made me do it

~3:33 am~

*knock knock knock knock knock knock knock* phoenix opened her eyes to the sound of someone knocking on the door she sighed getting up "I swear if that's that psycho I'll really kill him!" she groaned getting out of bed sliding on a pair of shorts to go with her sports bra, she went out her room to the front door looking out the peephole seeing jungkook out of breath and a sweaty mess phoenix sighed opening the door jungkook pushed his way inside wasting no time he slammed the door shut locking it "what the hell did you do?" phoenix glared at him jungkook struggled to catch his breath as he looked at her "I killed a woman who stayed by herself and I was staying at the house, but when I got there there were cops everywhere, someone saw me and started chasing me I got away from him a couple of blocks away but I don't have anywhere to go...please let me stay here tonight." phoenix looked at him in disbelief "no, hell no! If my dad finds you here he'll hill me himself!" she yelled at him "Please, just one night I'll leave tomorrow!" jungkook begged her with his eyes making it hard to say no.

"Fine but you stay in the living room and don't even think about doing anything!" phoenix snapped at him "what else would I do? What's in your mind huh?" jungkook smirked at her phoenix rolled her eyes turning and opening the hall closet taking out a pillow and a blanket trowing them to him "just don't get any ideas." phoenix watched him set up the couch as he laid down she turned and went to her bedroom taking one last look at the psychopath in her living room before going into her room part of her was worried about leaving him alone in the house alone but she didn't want to open her room to him, she laid down in her bed pulling the blankets up to her eyes before dozing back off.

~next day~

"Wake up you fucking psycho!!" phoenix yelled at him making him jolt awake "why are you yelling!" jungkook sat up the blankets falling off of him reviling his shirtless body phoenix pointed to the clock on the wall glaring at him jungkook was still confused he didn't understand what the time had to do with anything "I have school and you can't stay here alone, so hurry up and come on." jungkook sighed sliding on a shirt he stole from the guy's house "look psycho everyone at school calls me echo, so don't go blowing my cover okay?" jungkook nodded still sleepy "fine, what do I do then?" phoenix looked at him "blend in don't cause problems." jungkook laughed "last time I went in your  school, the girls where all over me and the guys didn't like that." phoenix stopped and smirked, "then you already got the gist of it." jungkook was left behind dumbfounded as phoenix walked through the school gates jungkook quickle replaced the look on his face with a smirk as he ran up behind her and wrapped his arm around her shoulder only for phoenix to elbow him in the side and put distance between them jungkook groaned frustrated with her stubornniss.

Phoenix and jungkook were walking down the hallway everyone was starring making phoenix uncomfortable jungkook, on the other hand, was happy everyone was mumbling about them being a couple but that was cut short when a guy came up to them jungkook recognized him as the one who followed her around the day he first seen her "hey echo! Who's this?" the guy wrapped his arm around her shoulder pulling her closer jungkook glared at him "I'm jungkook, her boyfriend." he pushed off the guys arm pulling phoenix closer to him but phoenix glared at him putting space between them "Sungmin this is jungkook, my friend. He didn't have anywhere to go so I let him hang around and wait for me." jungkook glared at her disappointment in his eyes "you're trying too hard bro." Sungmin spoke up patting jungkook's shoulder "says the one who follows her around like a lost puppy." jungkook stated plainly before walking away with anger radiating from him. "What's with him? Let's go to class echo." she nodded following him to the classroom phoenix took her seat as the teacher came in and started the lesson in the middle of class Sungmin raised his hand to ask to go to the bathroom the teacher allowed him and he left with his phone.

~jungkook pov~

Jungkook had stormed off he was upset that phoenix didn't follow him not that she would have to begin with they were nothing to each other even if jungkook wanted to call her his he knew she would never go for him, he would have to fight for her jungkook slammed his fist into the wall beside him making his hand bleed "are you okay!?" a small girl's voice was heard behind him making jungkook turn around to look at the girl who was watching the blood on his hand drip down "I'm fine." jungkook replied hoping she would leave "come I'll get you a wet paper towel." the girl pulled jungkook to the bathrooms and wet inside only to come out a few seconds later with a wet cloth "thanks." jungkook took the cloth and started cleaning the blood only to stop when the girl pushed him to the wall "my kindness should be rapid with a kiss?" the girl pressed her lips to his.

Jungkook switched positions to where the girl was against the wall jungkook smirked into the kiss he knew he should stop but he didn't feel like explaining his actions to an average girl jungkooks thoughts were interrupted when he got pushed away harshly by someone "what the hell are you doing with my cousin!?" jungkook turned his head to find Sungmin "oh it's just you, for a second I thought pho-echo had come looking for me." jungkook chuckled earning a glare from both people in front of him "why would she want to follow you? You psycho!" jungkook laughed a little "not my fault you cousin is a whore." jungkook was tackled to the floor by Sungmin the girl screamed out scared making people gather around. The voices in jungkook's head spoke again 'forget what she said, kill him! He needs a lesson!' jungkook flipped Sungmin to the ground getting on top of him he landed punch after punch to Sungmin's face jungkook knew he needed to stop but he couldn't it was as if the voices were controlling his body he looked around wanting to call out for phoenix but nothing came out as the voices controlled him.

~phoenix pov~

Sitting in the classroom she got a bad feeling in her stomach the first thought that came to her mind was what happened to jungkook she didn't trust him alone with Sungmin after the smart comment Sungmin made this morning she was worried since he had been gone for a long time, it wasn't long after her thoughts ended that she heard students yelling in the hallways phoenix stood up running out the classroom down the hall franticly looking for jungkook not finding him anywhere phoenix pushed her way through the crowd before stopping abruptly as horror washed over her face jungkook had Sungmin pinned down on the floor in a pool of blood as jungkook kept slamming his fist into Sungmin's face but something was off jungkook's face wasn't angry nor happy he was desperate as if he was calling for her in his mind. Phoenix went up to him catching his fist before he could land another blow to Sungmin's face she used all her strength to pull him off he landed on the floor as phoenix held his hands "jungkook! Stop look I'm here it's okay now!" phoenix tried to calm him as she hugged him he held her closer to him tightly "please, take me away from here... I can't control them." phoenix pulled jungkook up leading him out of the school.

"Let's go home..." jungkook looked at her "but you said-" phoenix hugged him seeing him not completely relaxed "I know what I said, but you might cause more problems than I have to fix." jungkook relaxed into her arms "tank you phoenix, for not turning me in." phoenix laughed pulling away from him "I don't want to be your enemy." jungkook chuckled as phoenix dragged him beside her "I could never make you an enemy." jungkook mumbled the last part under his breath but phoenix heard him, a smile appeared on her face as she made her way home.
