chapter 13- the royals

Y/n followed the so-called royals into the upper part of the hotel, they all piled into a large office lining up in front of a desk occupied by a guy in his later years. y/n bowed a little unsure of what to do the guy looked over her "your phoenix?" he spoke in a deep raspy voice y/n nodded a little "we've been looking for you for a while now, finding you are not as easy as we thought it would be." The guy let a deep chuckle escape his throat before continuing "we would like to offer you a place here, I've heard rumors you were working with our newest bangtan member...jungkook was it?" y/n nodded looking down at the floor

 "I helped him complete his mission in my town." The girl with dark brown hair laughed a quickly covering her mouth as everyone glared at her "sorry it's just... coworkers like us don't hug." Amused the elderly guy looked over at y/n "so... a couple then?" y/n nodded carefully bringing her head up to meet the guy's eyes "yes, we are that's why I came here to look for him." y/n spoke with a confident voice tired of feeling lower than these random people who lead her away from the safe comfort of jungkook.

The blonde-haired guy beside y/n seemed to pick up on her anxious feelings as he patted her back, "maybe we should hurry and let her go back to bangtan, she's obviously not used to this kind of place." The guy at the desk nodded picking up a binder bigger than the others around him "this is your file phoenix, it holds all the kills you've done and how you did them... as you can see it's by far the biggest file here, and that's why I want to offer you a spot with the royals." The group was taken back by his sudden offer as they looked to her "I'll give you today to learn more about them, even go on their mission tonight with them and then come see me with your answer. But might I add if you don't accept we can't risk our base being uncovered so accepting is really the only answer you can give." 

The guy finished with a smile making y/n scoff "you think death is a threat?" y/n spoke with a playful devilish voice making the boss a little confused "I'll give you an answer but knowing how organizations work I can tell if I say no you won't kill me I'm too important to this team which is why you were searching for me." The boss smirked at how quickly y/n picked u on his game "then... what would we do?" wasting no time y/n walked up to the guy placing her hands on his desk lowering herself to his level "something along the lines of torture jungkook to the point of death to get me to agree, but you won't let him die. You will keep torturing him give him a few days to recover and do it all again." The boss leaned back in his seat "see she's worthy of being in your group, I trust you will make the right choice."

"You know at first it thought you were just some wannabe, but you have guts talking to the boss like that." The rude girl spoke up as we went into the elevator "I'm my own boss." y/n didn't even glance in her direction as she spoke "I'm hyuna, I believe we got off on bad terms." y/n shrugged her shoulders at her statement "people call me phoenix."

 The guy with black hair spoke up "I'm Jay Park, the leader of the royals." The blonde-haired guy from earlier spoke up next "I'm taemin and this is my twin Taeyeon, were fighters." Hyuna pitched into the conversation once again "I'm a hacker and lookout." Her tone filled with annoyance "let's hear your real name hm?" jay looked over the girl figure pushing her to tell them "y/n, but not even my dad calls me by that name." the elevator doors dinged open and y/n was the first one out finding jungkook by the wall she quickly went over to him getting his attention "so how did it go?" he spoke in a low tone trying to be quiet "they want me to work with them..." 

y/n kept the last part hidden in the back of her mind not wanting to alarm him "you said yes right? I've been here for weeks and from what I hear no one has ever seen the boss. Only the royals who deliver messages." y/n was confused "nothing special about him." y/n was going to say something else but she was interrupted by jay holding her shoulder "y/n your boyfriend can wait, our mission can't let's go." y/n sighed as she turned back to jungkook who was glaring at the guy's hand on her shoulder, slightly pushing him off y/n spoke again "I'll see you later bunny."

"First thing first we have to tell you about us, the royal group. Taemin would you like to explain?" Taemin stood up as soon as jay finished his words "the royals started when we had a boss who was really paranoid, he never let anyone see his face so when the subdivisions started asking questions about him he created a group from the fighters and hackers these people became the royals who transfer messages back and forth between the subdivisions and the boss, the subdivisions all accepted this as how things were and so as time went on we narrowed our team down to four but now that you're here were five again. Never in the history of royals have I seen a boss search the world for a new royal member, we were all born into it." 

y/n thought for a minute "you said again... you had someone else?" hyuna stood up to speak "we did in our parents' generation, he was the leader but he left to be with his pregnant girlfriend. As you remember leaving is a death wish so my father killed the woman after she had the child... but that child grew up and killed my father recently..." y/n didn't understand why she had a cold tone with her but she brushed it off thinking haw she must want to kill that person. "Sorry... maybe we should worry about the mission?" y/n spoke up trying to get off the subject of hyuna's father something about the story didn't fit right in her mind.

"My answer is yes... I'll stay with the royals." y/n stood in front of the boss with a look of death on her blood-covered clothes from the mission they just got back from "you're really clueless huh? You will stay with jungkook in his hotel room, I thought you two would like some alone time." y/n turned and walked out the room as soon as she reached the lobby of the hotel jungkook was standing at the elevator he joined her inside as he pressed his floor number. "You should call your father when we get to the room, he must be worried." y/n nodded laying her head on his shoulder she was physically and mentally tired "you will get used to having people with you soon, for us who have been alone our whole life it's hard." 

Jungkook pulled her out of the elevator as soon as it opened leading her into a room at the far end of the hotel he unlocked the door pulling her inside "call your dad, I'm going to shower." Jungkook walked away disappearing into the bathroom as y/n took out her phone she dialed her father's number "y/n? Honey how is everything did you make it?" y/n teared up at her father's voice she sat down on the bed "yeah, have you heard about an underground hotel? It's so weird I'm already above everyone." Confused at why everything was silent on the phone y/n paused "y/n... we need to talk..."
