chapter five~ housemates

Phoenix opened the front door surprised it wasn't locked. She looked around finding her dad's car in the parking lot she looked around "dad!? I'm home!" phoenix dragged Jungkook inside beside her as her dad came out of the room "did you have fun monster, how was i- who's this?" he stopped seeing the strange boy beside his daughter "dad this is jungkook... can he stay with us a while?" phoenix looked at her dad with pleading eyes; she never asked anything of her father unless she needed to; her dad sent him a sharp glare before looking at phoenix "let's talk in the room phoenix." her dad sent him one last glare before following phoenix into her bedroom.

Once in the room, her dad shut the door behind him sending her a glare "why would you bring a psycho here!? Do you know the whole county is after him!? He's all over the news. What if someone traces him to you!? That's harboring a fugitive!" phoenix looked at him clearly annoyed "like you're hiding a serial killer?" phoenix spoke in a dark voice "that's different you are my daughter, he-" phoenix cut off her father pointing to the living room "he has no one! Even his family left him alone!" her dad sighed clearly losing the battle he gave up "fine, but you are responsible for him if he gets you caught I won't be there this time." he left her alone in the room going to cook some food for the family.

Phoenix sighed, running her hand through her hair frustrated at the argument with her father, she left the room to find Jungkook sitting in front of the tv watching the news that had a picture of him "it's best not to watch the news." she went up to him placing her hand on his dyed crimson red hair "you should go take a shower, we'll leave tonight to go to your parent's house." Jungkook sighed walking to the bathroom phoenix started up a small conversation with her dad about borrowing his car for the night before jungkook came back out of the bathroom with an embarrassed look on his face "hey umm phoenix... how do you work the shower?" phoenix looked at him before laughing it off she brought him back to the bathroom "look, left is hot and right is cold and you pull this up to turn the shower on." phoenix turned around only to see jungkook only in his boxers "Woah! Jungkook!!" she covered her eyes as she made her way out the bathroom closing the door behind her she heard jungkook mumble thanks behind the door.

~4 hours later~

Phoenix looked over to jungkook her heart softening as she watched his perfect features she listened as he let out soft breaths before stopping herself "no phoenix, you can't do that." she spoke quietly shaking her head at the thoughts going through her mind "were here? Why didn't you wake me?" jungkook sat up rubbing his eyes with a yawn "we just got here... listen jungkook don't cause problems tonight I don't want to fix them." phoenix spoke harshly making jungkook confused. He didn't understand why she was so mad at him all of a sudden phoenix got out of the car that was parked a few houses from his parent's address. Slowly they made their way to the house crouching behind some bushes as they looked into the living room window seeing a girl laughing at some guy phoenix looked at jungkook seeing his hands balled into fists he was going to stand up but phoenix stopped him "jungkook no!" she whispered yelled at him making him stop.

Jungkook stood up walking away from the window quickly so he wouldn't be seen, Phoenix followed behind him carefully and she followed him to the car watching him lean against the car door. Phoenix watched as his breath was seen in the air "how can they be so happy without me? They sent me away just to be happy?" phoenix reached into the car pulling out a pack of cigarettes that she stashed away "here, I normally smoke one every time I get really upset with something... it should help." she handed one to him before sliding one in between her lips she helped light his before lighting her own letting the smoke flow out her lips her body relaxing.

"Jungkook! Come back!" phoenix froze as she watched the girl she saw earlier fall onto the road in tears "what the hell? Did she see us?" jungkook spoke watching his sister look around desperately "go take care of this." Phoenix spoke as she turned away, hiding her face. Jungkook took a bat from the car and walked up to the girl "j-jungkook... I knew it was you let's go home huh? We can catch up!" jungkook chuckled at her, making her confused "have you seen the news lately?" jungkook looked at her the contacts in his eyes making her scared "you wouldn't do that-" jungkook cut off the girl swinging the bat to her legs making her fall back on the ground "oh little sister, if only you didn't follow us..." jungkook laughed devilishly before slamming the bat to her head over and over again making blood splatter everywhere phoenix walked over to him and held the bat "that's enough, let's get outta here" phoenix spoke pulling the bat from him and throwing it in the back floorboard out of sight before getting in the car and driving off with jungkook to find a place to stay for the night.
