Ami
My name is Ami Higurashi, I am the daughter of Kagome and Inuyasha. My mother is the reincarnation of the powerful priestess Kikiyo and my father is the son of the great dog demon and the beautiful Lady Isaioy. My father says that I look like a cross between my mother and his mother, but I have his hair, which is white as snow. So, given my lineage, I am one quarter dog demon, and one half priestess. It is a strange combination, but then again, my parents aren't exactly normal.
My mother is from a completely different era than my father and I are. She was born 500 years in the future, and the place where she used to live is called Tokyo, so that is what my mother calls the place where we live. I have never left the village before, and it drives me mad being stuck in the same place day in and day out. I have always asked my parents when I will be allowed to leave, and my mother says when I'm old enough, my father says never.
So this is where I start my story, sitting in the tallest stable branch in the tallest tree by the river, brooding about never being able to leave the village, when I sensed something coming from the south. I smelled something that was slightly disgusting, and yet, slightly pleasant. The sound of the speed the wind had was incredible, and I could tell from the tingling feeling I had at the back of my head that it was a demon. I sat up in the branch, and then I saw my mother waddling out from the cottage where we lived. She was very pregnant with my little brother or sister. My father was not far behind her, and he didn't look very happy.
“Koga, that stupid wolf, what does he want?” he growled into my mother's ear. Having my father's enhanced senses was sometimes helpful, sometimes, not so much. I shuddered at the memory of what they had been doing the night my mother said she was pregnant. Then I jumped down next to my parents, who weren't the least bit surprised that I had just popped up out of no where.
“Be nice Inuyasha, maybe he needs help.” my mother scolded him. My father scoffed and put an arm possessively around both mine and my mother's shoulders.
“This is Koga I'm smelling?” I said quietly. That would explain the smell of wolves.
“Oh yeah, this is him alright. I'd recognize that stench anywhere. What does he want now after all these years?” My father's face was wrenched up in disgust. I had heard about the wolf demon Koga from both my parents, my Aunt Sango and Uncle Miroku, and my cousin Shippo. All of which were now surrounding us.
“Koga's finally coming back?” Sango asked the group. My mother nodded softly, and my father grunted in reply. Uncle Miroku fingered his staff, making the hoops in the circle on top jingle. Everyone was silent, obviously waiting for him to arrive, and wallowing in their memories.
Apparently, Koga was the young leader of the demon wolf tribe in the south. He had let his wolves slaughter a human village, and then had kidnapped my mother, but not after calling my father a mutt. Ever since then, my father and Koga had been bitter rivals. My mother had the amazing ability to forgive and forget, but my father had no such talent. To this day whenever he was brought up, my father would storm away growling like a little kid that had just gotten in trouble. My parent's hadn't heard anything of him or from him since long before I was born.
Suddenly, my father tensed again and he growled. It looked like a twister was heading straight for us, but it stopped right in front of my parents, who had walked forward to greet the whirlwind. The wind scattered, and I saw the most handsome man I had ever laid my eyes on.

“Whaddaya want you mangy wolf?” my dad growled at the gorgeous man immaturely. His eyes were narrowed and his left fist clenched around the hilt of his sword. His dog ears were pinned flat against his head. The man, Koga, I presumed, scoffed with a air that just screamed I couldn't care less what you think. My heart thudded inside my chest in an unfamiliar way. My breath was coming in raggedly.
“What? No hello? No how have you been?” Koga feigned hurt, putting a hand over his armor covered heart. “I'm wounded dog breath.” Koga smirked at my father. I glared at him. I don't care how good-looking he is, no one talks to my father like that. No one! I walked up next to my dad and bared my teeth at this heavenly-looking creature. He looked from me to my father in surprise. Then his lips curled up into another smirk.
“You have some nerve coming here and talking to my father in such a way.” I was glaring at this man, and it was getting harder and harder each second. He was looking at me with amused eyes.
“Oh yeah? And who's going to stop me doll face?” I flushed at the nick name. Then I realized that he'd said doll not dog. Then I turned an even darker pink.
“Don't you dare talk to my daughter like that Koga. You stay away from her.” My father pushed me behind him, and I gratefully snuggled into his red kimono. I wore the outfit of a priestess along with a scarf that my mother used to wear when she first discovered this world. I was happy to be out of the way of Koga's teasing gaze.
“But that would defeat my purpose for coming here mutt.” Koga threw sharply at my father. Then Koga turned to my mother. “Hey Kagome, long time no see. You've been well I hope.” Koga was in front of my mother before my father could even move.
“Koga, it's nice to see you as well.” My mother smiled at Koga. “What's with the sudden visit though? We weren't expecting you.” my mother shot a look pointedly at my father. He scoffed and looked away.
“Actually, I have to talk to you about something very important Kagome.” I looked up from the red fabric of my father's kimono into the man's dark green eyes. “And it has to do with your beautiful daughter here.”
