Chapter Three, WHAT?!

A/N Hello for another chapter! Also WHOA! I can't believe all of the reviews and love this has gotten! THIS IS CRAZY! (or maybe I'm just not used to fanfiction...) You all rock! Fontaine is going to need all the help she can get ;) I also started another story, The Fishening, and a crossover, Nanny Piggins and the Nektons, so you can check them out.

"Nereus'' Her voice was scarily, dangerously quiet. Fontaine had rarely seen her mum this mad. "You knew Fontaine might be ASSASSINATED and you DIDN'T TELL US?!" Kaiko was livid and so was Will, but he was also keeping Kaiko from slapping Nereus. "I thought we could wait until she came into her powers, and I wasn't sure if she was the one yet until Lemuria." Kaiko got the scary quiet tone again. "Start talking old man"

Fontaine was taking a different approach. She laughed "Riiiiiiight." "Suuuure." She snorted.

"It's true." Nereus looked at the skeptical Fontaine. "You have a role to play, Fontaine." Fontaine would have laughed him off, but she had recently seen her brother defeat the Kraken, so she was in the mood to believe. "Like Ant?" "No" replied Nereus. "Bigger?" asked Fontaine. Ant stuck out his tongue and Fonaine stuck hers out in return. "Neither of you is better, Antaeus, just different. Quickly I need to set a course." Nereus strode down the hall. "If you think that's all you're saying, you're deluded" Fontaine looked at him, annoyed. "All will be explained in due time" Out on the bridge, Nereus sat down at Kaiko's chair. He started tapping at the screen. He then proceeded to turn the lights off. "Uh," Nereus stammered, "Maybe I should let Kaiko do it"

The Nektons all tried to get some rest, Will couldn't sleep and went straight to the study, where he was surprised to see Fontaine. "Hey Fontaine." She yawned. "Can't sleep?" he asked. "Well, it's 7 in the morning, so yeah. I assume Ant's asleep already?" He chuckled, "Yeah. What'cha doin?" "Nereus is hiding something, I want to find out what. I'm looking for the coordinates he had mum plug into the Aronnax." Will looked at the map. "It's just a strip of empty ocean. On all of these maps!" "I know, it's weird. Why would Nereus be so intent on getting us to an empty stretch of sea?" Fontaine worked with the same results until eventually she was so tired she fell asleep in her chair.

She was awoken by Kaiko over the intercom. "All Nektons, report to the bridge, Priority 2. We have reached our destination" Nereus was waiting for the Nektons when they opened the hatch. They looked out, Fontaine was expecting an empty sea, but there was an island! Or, more of a shoal. It was quite beautiful. Overtop was a humongous city. The houses were connected by bridges, and everything was on stilts. It looked cobbled together, but cobbled together in a meaningful way. A girl met them at the dock. She reminded Fontaine of someone, she just couldn't place who... The girl had jet black hair that was almost blue tinged, and olive skin. She had on a simple black wetsuit with purple sleeves. As the Nektons walked down the gangplank, she ran up, skipping Will and walking straight up to Fontaine. "Hi! I'm Kymara!" Fontaine smiled. "Kymara Benthos" Fontaine then promptly pushed her off the dock.
