AS SOON AS YUKIKO GOT BACK FROM THE COMPANY, she gave her dad's present to her mother, who hid it underneath the counter. Izumi looked at Yukiko for a second, something not feeling right. She brushed it off, thinking she was imagining it, but then she caught the reflection of light on her multiple earrings and her eyes widened in shock, "What's that on your ears?" Izumi glared at her child and both Yukiko and Reiko looked at their mother, terrified about what she was going to do.
"I got new piercings, you like?" Yukiko smiled awkwardly, tucking her hair behind her ears.
"When did I give you permission, Yukiko? That's six piercings! How did you even afford them and where did you get it done?" Izumi stared at her daughter in disbelief.
"I didn't think it was going to be that big of a deal! Reiko has multiple ones!" Reiko quickly took a look at her sister for getting her involved, and turned back to making the food, trying to make herself as invisible as possible, in an attempt for her mother to not shout at her too.
"Did you know about this, Reiko?" Izumi was pointing at her oldest child with the wooden spoon she was holding and the girl felt like she wanted to kill Yukiko in that moment.
She shrugged, not looking into her mother's eyes, "Had no clue."
"Yukiko, what the heck was going through your brain? Doing something without asking permission! Plus you need to be over 18 to get piercings without someone else's approval!"
"Yeah, the guy and I had a mutual friend, mama!"
"Who?"
"Dabi."
"Who's Dabi?"
"A boy, I met him at the train station like two weeks ago," Yukiko explained.
Her mother didn't know what else to say, she knew how Yukiko made friends really easily with almost anyone so she just sighed and thought she was going to talk to Daiki about it, see what he thinks about Yukiko's decisions.
Reiko took another look at Yukiko and asked her to come closer to her as she examined the piercings, "They look cool," she whispered in her ear and winked at her, "but never get me involved again!" The brunette got to work, organising the balloons in the hallway and assisting her sister in bringing out the long tables to the backyard where they were going to have dinner, leaving the happy birthday ones in the living room so she could place them in the backyard after she finished decorating it. Yukiko was left to do the decorating at her own speed while Reiko returned to make the desserts. She proceeded to set the table for dinner, grabbing the wooden chairs from the garage and arranging them accordingly, including two plates and a bowl for each seat, as well as the required cutlery. Yukiko raced her way to her kitchen and back outside several times to get the glasses to the tables, even Haru helped her with a glass or two, earning himself a kiss on the cheek from all the females present.
