A book to appreciate The Mamas and The Papas! We'll discuss song meanings, talk a bit about the drama that went on in the group and more.

I had become aware of the Mamas and the Papas back in 2018 but even then, I didn't pay much attention to their songs.
On a Monday, I had Monday, Monday stuck in my head (thanks Spotify) and I decided to listen to the song because otherwise it would never leave my head. Ironically, Michelle, Denny and Cass didn't want to sing it at all.
I end up listening to California Dreamin' and I Saw Her Again. For some reason I never really paid much attention to the lyrics. I just loved how it sounded, I loved that there were female and male members in a group. I hadn't seen that before.
Later I started paying attention to the lyrics, specifically I Saw Her Again.
Man, those lyrics are HARSH.
Also, at this point I really liked Michelle Phillips, I mean, I shared the same name with her, I thought that was cool. But then I fell into the Cass Elliot rabbit hole.
