He paced back and forth trying to ease the nervousness and weariness building up inside him.

It has been 22 hours and 8 minutes and yet she's still sleeping!

Damn it!What the hell am I going to do?he asked himself.

Her doctor and the psychologist assured him two hours ago that she is doing fine.Sleeping is her body's cure to recuperate her emotional,mental and physical health but still he is so worried.

How long should she sleep?Her doctor and her shrink cannot answer his question.He gently tapped his feet and sighed.He need to wait.

A soft knock interrupted his thoughts.

"Come in!"he barked to whoever is knocking.

His nanny Dolores entered the room.Her kind eyes told him that she is worried for him.

"Rex,you know that I love you like my own son and I cannot stand seeing you like that.Stop worrying son and choose to believe that she will get better any minute by now,"her voice calmed his nerves.She held his hand,tapped his shoulder,smiled and spoke softly.

"The nutritionist/chef you've hired ten hours ago has created a special soup for her.Everything you have demanded has been set and ready,son.Happy Birthday and Happy Valentines,son!"She kissed him before she stepped out of the room.

"Dolores,thank you so much!I love you too like I love my mom Esmeralda,"he replied like a tamed,innocent,good boy.

She smiled and spoke gently,"Speaking of Esmeralda and Alejandro,they will arrive any minute by now.Damaris and Alistair are on their way,son.They said your birthday party is now ready.We have painstakingly prepared all the details of the party for three months now,son, and I hope you will like it."

"Thanks Dolores!I would rather stay here and wait for her to wake up.I want to be here once she open her eyes but thank you."he kissed her on her cheek.This woman has been so good and patient and he realized it now.

"When did my son Rex learned to say thank you and kissed his nanny?"she squealed full of mirth and her old eyes is shining with amusement and happiness.

He smiled and blushed.

"Ever since I saw her strange things are happening to me,Dolores,and I do not know why or how..."he stopped unable to find the right words.

"I understand,son.I'll tell you what you are obsessed with her.She is your greatest weakness but she brings out the best in you,son."she spoke and smiled.

"Dolores thank you for taking good care,for tolerating me,for everything.I am sorry for all the times I shouted at you or most of the time I disrespect you.I love you."his voice cracked and his eyes are now covered with tears.

She cried and hugged him tight.

"You are forgiven,my son.I love you,son."

He hugged her back.He never knew that loving all the important people in his life including this quiet,gentle woman felt so good.

"Rex,water please,"Kayleigh spoke weakly.His thoughts was interrupted by her raspy voice.

Did she just call my name?His heart jumped out from his body.He literally sprinted to the kitchen and get the water and the special chicken soup for her.Within seconds,he came back with the water and a food tray with a steaming soup inside the bowl.He helped her sit up and feed her with the soup.She stared at him for few minutes before she open her mouth.

She can hear the bird flitting from tree to tree.She can feel the salty,cool breeze.She can see the flowers blooming under the sun.She can taste the creaminess and richness of the chicken soup he offered to her.She can almost touch the gentleness,compassion and love exuding with every facial expression or every gesture he does.Somehow she felt happy that she knew Rex has a hidden humane side.

What the hell do you mean?Are you deeply in love with him now that the monster has turned to a tamed puppy dog?Have you forgotten all the pain and suffering?Her wounded soul screamed at her.She blinked her eyes and let the questions vanish in her mind.

He brought her hands to his lips and kissed it.

"Kayleigh..Happy Valentines Day!Care to greet me happy birthday and join the party later?"he pleaded with his puppy eyes and his hands clasped.

"Happy Birthday,Rex!I cannot promise that I can join you later but I will try..."she replied weakly.

He pouted but he smiled again and exclaimed excitedly,"Then if that's the case,I'll just bring my family here and I'll introduce you to them!"

A wicked idea came to her mind.

She kissed him on his cheek.

"Happy Birthday,Rex!I think I am falling for you!"she whispered and blushed.

His eyes popped out and turned into red hearts!His mouth formed an O but nothing came out.He was totally shocked and drowning with so much happiness.His eyes revealed the pure happiness he is feeling at the moment.

"Rex,did you hear what I said?I said I am your girlfriend starting today!"she squealed in delight.

She couldn't understand what's happening with her.She felt like she's potraying a role in a movie but the emotions involve are half-lie and half-truth.Half-truth because she is really falling for him but half-lie because she offered her yes even if she is not sure.All she know is that her plan should be carried out.

He just stared at her for several minutes and suddenly he lifted her and twirled her.He put her down and he jumped like a boy with his hand on his cheek.He could not believe she said yes.She is his official girlfriend now and she kissed him.He could not describe the happiness he felt and he just keep on ogling at her pretty face.

She smiled sweetly to him and told herself.

Step 2 Accomplished!Tame him and make him believe you are in love with him!
