Prom Day
*Amanis POV*
We were on the dancefloor, whippin', yeeting, everything possible. Then we did a circle with almost the whole school and some got in the middle and started dancing. It was so funny, until the music stopped.
"Looks like it's time to announce our prom king and queen." the principle said.
He opened the envelope and cleared his throat. "Our prom king is.." he stopped.
Still nothing.
"JUST SAY IT MAN!" Shawn yelled. I couldn't do anything but laugh at this fool.
"Our prom king is Dixon Carter!"
He was about to walk on stage but walked back and gave me a quick kiss.
He got his crown and started whippin and droppin.
"Our prom queen is..." he started, "Amani Davis!"
What ? I didn't even know I was nominated.
"Get yo ass up there." Kamiah said smiling. I did as told and got my crown as the crowd cheered.
Dixon came over and grabbed my hand as 4 years old by Chris Brown started playing. That was our song. We always listened to that when we were chilling and just talking.
We were dancing to the song and it felt perfect. My eyes were getting watery.
"Mani, don't cry." he smiled kissing my cheek. He brought me closer to him and started singing in my ear sending chills down my body.

I thought we were on our way home but he drove in another direction.
"Where are we going ?"
"Sshhh, just relax."
I texted my dad saying it might get late and that I'm with Dixon. He replied saying he would go over to their house.
The car stopped and he got out. Not long after he opened the door for me.
He took my hand "You trust me right ?" he asked.
I nodded "Of course."
He blindfolded me and lead me somewhere. We were walking through grass so I guess we were in the woods or something.
He stopped and took of my blindfolds. I opened my eyes to see a beautiful view.
"This is beautiful. Why'd you take me here ?"
"Because. I like you. Alot. You know what, fuck that. I love you Mani. I never thought I would meet someone who would make me feel the way you did. I mean I had girlfriends before but you're different." he said with watery eyes. I love it when men aren't afraid to show their emotions.
"I love you too." I replied smiling and crying tears of joy.
He wiped away my tears and kissed me passionately.
