"Are you ok? Did anyone see you? Did you get hurt?" Eren asked frantically.
"I'm fine. No one saw me. And yes."
"Where?" He said, grabbing the bandages.
"Here." He pulled up his tattered sleeve.
Eren gasped. "Oh my gods. I told you to be careful. You could've gotten killed." He said, grabbing a cloth and a pale of water.
"But I didn't."
"Stop using that excuse for everything. I'm serious. You need to stop this. You're going to get in trouble."
"I just want to help."
"I know that. But-"
"They don't know that. I know." Kal said, cutting him off.
"Right. And those dragons don't care. They'll hurt you too."
"I don't care. I need to-"
The door opened and their father walked in. He looked over and saw them. He gasped. "Kal are you ok? What happened?"
"He went outside during the attack." Eren said.
"Kal! Are you trying to get killed? How many times do I have to tell you? It's dangerous. Do you want to end up like your mother?"
"No." Kal muttered looking away.
"Then listen to your brother and don't go outside. Please."
"Fine."
"That looks bad. Here. Eat this." he pulled a leaf from a flower.
"But I hate Maxis stem."
"Eat the leaf Kal. You'll heal faster."
"Fine." Kal muttered as he ate the bitter leaf.

Bam bam bam!
Someone was pounding on the door. Kal got up and saw Eren and his father confused. They opened the door and found a member of the royal guard.
"Everyone join the line outside. We have a report of magic usage. Whoever it is will not be forgiven for breaking the law." He moved along.
Eren glanced at Kal who tightened his jaw. His eyes were wide and his fists were clenched.
"Magic usage? Who could that be?" Their father asked. He was completely oblivious to his son's powers. He had no idea.
They stood outside in the line. Kal quivering and fiddling with his hands. The line was filled with chatter. Everyone was wondering what was going on. Eren held his brother's hand tight.
All the chatter stopped when the head knight walked down with a woman. "This woman. Claims to have seen a man possessing magical abilities. He was out last night in a dark cloak spreading the fires from the dragon. I suggest whomever it is give themselves up immediately. Before we have to go to the extremes."
Kal wanted to run away. He didn't want to get caught. He wanted to hide. But his brother had other plans.
"It's my brother. Kal. He's the one."
Everyone gasped.
"What are you talking about Eren?" Their father asked.
"It's him. I've seen him do it."
"Eren? Why are you doing this?"
Eren didn't answer.
The knight walked up to him. "Is this true?"
Kal was frozen. He couldn't answer.
"The dragon caught his arm. He's injured." The woman said.
"Give me your arm."
"This is insane. My son can't do magic."
Kal was on the verge of tears but he gave the knight his arm. He pulled up his sleeve and saw the bandages.
"So it is you. Come along."
"Eren! Why!? Why would you tell them? Please! You know I wasn't trying to hurt anyone! WHY?!" He yelled frantically pulling in his brother's arm.
Eren yanked his arm away. "Because you're a monster!"
Kal felt like he had punched him. No. He would've felt better if he had punched him. "Why would you say that?" He mumbled.
Eren turned away and didn't answer.
The knight grabbed Kal's arm and pulled him along.
"Where are you taking my son?!" His father shouted.
"He will be tried in front of the king. He will determine your son's fate."
