"And I can't bare to lose you." he took his hands.

Kal stared at him. Tears were welling up in his eyes. "I... I love you too Julian. But I'm not sure we can find a way out of this."

Julian closed his eyes and rested his head against the bars. "I don't know what to do." he said as tears rolled down his cheek.

Kal's tears started to fall and he rested his head against Julian's. "We'll figure it out. Together."

"Yeah..."

The two sat in silence just holding each other for a long while.

Kal took a deep breath and started to pull away. "You should be resting."

"But what about you?"

"I'll be fine. I'm still mad at you for going against my wishes and researching my powers when you should've been resting." He said, looking away.

"Well I'm sorry."

"No you're not."

"You're right. I'm not really sorry. But I did feel bad about giving you bad news. Are you sure you'll be ok on your own?"

"Yes Julian. I'll be fine. I just need some time to think on my own."

"Are you sure? I don't wanna leave you here all alone." Julian asked, taking his hand.

Kal glanced at him and smiled. "I'll be fine. I promise. You can come down later I guess if you really don't feel like leaving me. But you need rest. There is no way sitting on concrete is good for your broken bones."

"Why are you worrying about me so much?" Julian asked

"Because I am. And you are hurt. So just go. Or I will make you." Kal said, looking at him.

"And how do you intend to do that?"

"Um... I don't know."

Julian chuckled. "Ok. I'll go rest."

"And don't do research this time."

"But-"

"No buts. I've had enough bad news the past week. Just. Go rest. Please." He said, looking away.

Julian sighed. "Alright. I promise. I won't do anymore research today."

"Thank you."

"Come here."

"What?" Kal asked, turning.

Julian reached up and pulled him toward him. He kissed his forehead through the bars. Kal smiled.

"What was that for?"

"To cast away all your bad thoughts. Did it work?"

"Definitely. Shall I do the same to you?"

"That would be lovely."

Kal pulled him in and Julian leaned in closing his ears. Kal kissed his forehead.

Julian smiled and looked up at Kal, catching his eyes.

"Did it work?" Kal asked.

"Definitely." Julian sighed and drew away. "I guess I'll go then."

"Be careful."

"I will. Don't worry." He said standing.

"Please keep your promise." Kal said standing as well.

"I will. No matter how curious I am."

"I'm curious too. But can we just forget about it? For a little while." Kal took his hand.
