Boys before books?

Quick bath, ironed uniform, full backpack, red gloss and hair styled to the front, I rushed out of my room.

"Morning mom" I sat to my bowl of fruits and fiber cereal

"morning baby" she replied and i grumbled, I wasn't a baby!
"Is that red lipgloss I see?" She asked without looking up and I kept my face down, spooning the cereal and letting the milk drip off

"Wipe it off jade!"
"You're going to school, not a party of some sort" she said sternly without looking up still.

"but it's not prohibited in school mama" i protested losing appetite

" But it'll only attract boys and men!" She looked up emphasizing on the MEN!

"No it won't mom"

"Look jaja stay away from boys....." I cut her off quickly

"........I don't want you around them, not even your male teachers, never go to see them alone" i completed

" I get it mom! No boys and I've been obedient" I wiped the lipgloss away with the back of my hands

" Good" she grinned
"Be quick let me drop you at school"

I snatched my bag quickly and stood up
" I'd take the bus"

"The bus isn't safe wait jade"

" Bye mom" I sped out quickly ignoring her rants

I rushed to the bus stop with my hands at either parts of my hip, the bus wasn't here yet so I had to wait, there were a couple of others waiting too, I stood beside a tree.

"Hi mommy's girl" Kristine bumped my shoulders, she was my classmate in science and we weren't even friends

I shuddered and mouthed a hi back

"I didn't see you around Josiah's party yesterday"

Josiah's party? He had a party? Oh! How would I know, I was in some sick sex club

"You don't have to reply, who doesn't know your mom doesn't let you do stuffs" she smiled

"you should free up sometime, boys are like fire, they wouldn't harm you until you touch" she walked away to chatter with the others

I watched her leave, I was just in my first year in lily high school, I hadn't made friends yet, I was still hoping to at least make some friends but mom or the driver always showed up before closing time! Heck!!!!

Boys were like fire?
I stood head up, Kristine was my mate and she knew nothing about boys

"Mom knew better" I said to myself quickly.....or didn't she?

Mariah's POV.
"She can't feed on baby milk yet*

"Mommy please, I'm already late for school, it happens everyday just because I have to breastfeed her in the mornings"

"did you consider school when you chose to do what adults do?"

"Mommy please not today" I said dropping the baby in her cot, I just couldn't continue feeding her, my breasts were full and my nipples were hurting badly, but the baby just had to suck!

Just as I turned to leave, a loud ear piercing cry filled my ears
"Don't cry, mama would come back in time" I held her tiny fingers pacifying her quickly

"Have a nice day at school, please come back as soon as you can so you can take care of your child" my mom said slowly and I nodded

The baby wasn't just the baby, her name was lily, I named her after my school as I was clueless and didn't know a suitable name.
