The most intriguing of all things "human" are faces. Not the ones which our skins naturally wear but the several invisible masks that hide us from everything , even from ourselves. We are so many people all at once that the very point of the word "identity" begins to face a crisis. We take all our past , present and our constantly variable futures to create our infinite faces but it is about time we quit relying on such contraptions and instead be something which we were meant to be and that is , namely "ourselves".

"Life" itself leads a very ironic life. In an era that promised to lead to the realization of higher-order of civilization, war has succeeded to the throne. Not a day goes by when myriad lives are not lost in futile pursuits of temporal powers. The children of humankind are forced to surrender their lives to uphold the sinful virtues of corrupt agencies. Intolerance and a lack of feelings for another have led to the creation of a world of evil wrapped in a cloth of peace. It is time for us to look within ourselves and realize that in this great play of life, we are the actors as well as the story-writers. Let us then write stories of peace, love, and joy where life itself lives a life worth living.

"Still the phoenix sits upon / The world in fearsome form, / With a crown upon her head / And the beauty of a storm." Newfound World, c. 1699: A phoenix nests on the roof of a house in a small colonial town, sending ripples throughout the community. Why is the phoenix here? Is she friend or foe? Heaven-sent or hell-bent? The town will grapple with the bird's presence in heated clashes of suppositions, superstitions and science. _____ HIGHEST RANKINGS: #1 in Allegorical (July 2020) #1 in Cautionary / CautionaryTale (June 2020) #1 in Didactic (June 2020) #1 in FantasyPoetry (August 2020) #1 in Iambic (April 2022) #2 in NarrativePoem (June 2020) #2 in Postcolonial (August 2024) _____ AWARDS: 🥇 1st place in Poetry | Autumn Awards (2020) | @GinaCharlotte 🥇 1st place in Poetry | The Talent Awards (2020) | @TheTalentAwards 🥉 3rd place in Poetry | Star Gazing Awards (2020) | @StarGazingAwards 🥉 3rd place in Poetry | The Sunshine Awards (2020) | @SunshineAwards2020

Close your eyes. Imagine that you are in a serene forest , late at night. You reach a small pond somewhere in the forest and a mountain beside it. Imagine a drop of water trickling into the pond and creating a ripple. A ripple which returns back to the source. Now , our minds are akin to such ponds and our thoughts are those small droplets of water which create such ripples which bring back their like. Once we free our minds , we scan select the drops of water which we can put into our minds. Thus , we must strive to free this most sacred asset because the ripples which we create put their dents at a cosmic level.
