A few of my friends and I stood at the partly closed doorway as we shushed each other, trying to hear what was happening inside. During our dinner Miss Sparrow informed us (Mostly our guests) that Miss Peregrine was healed enough, enough to be able to transform back into a human. Before we were able to get to the room she already changed. To give some of the kids privacy we were rushed out of the room, the only exception being Miss Sparrow. In case anything were to happen.
"Oh Miss Peregrine how we missed you!" Fiona sang out. I peered in through the sliver that was left open. All of them crowded Miss Peregrine, blocking her from my view. "Now now I wasn't really gone was I? Of course I did miss being able to speak to all of you." She replied. "What will happen?" Claire butted in. "Ya what will happen Miss P," Millard started. "We have no loop! No home!" The other children started to mutter among themselves. I guess it really just settled in for them. They no longer had a loop to call their own.
"Please! Please, children." Miss Peregrine said, straining her voice while doing so. "After I'm fully healed I'll be able to find ourselves another loop. A new home. We can't be thinking too ahead though. As of right now I'm more focused on recovering. While I am, Miss Sparrow will be able to take wonderful care of each and every one of you. She is one of my dearest friends so I have all my faith in her."
Emma spoke up with a little bit of concern laced into her voice. "Here? For how long." That comment alone sounded a bit snarky to me. "I was hurt fairly bad. My estimate is a few months at least." Miss Peregrine said. She opened her mouth again to add more onto the subject but filled it with a violent coughing fit instead. "Children, I think it's best we let Miss Peregrine alone for now. It's time for us to get to bed."
As she said that she opened the door rapidly. She could sense us eavesdropping at the door even before she opened it. "You too," she said to us while facing the other direction.
Awkwardly we all stood up as quickly as we could. "Heyyyy Miss S," Ezra said, trying to sound casual. "We were just here to, ummmm, to..." he tried to scrambled out a few words. "To say goodnight!" I Quickly made up. "I mean if I didn't say goodnight to my lovely ymbryne I would simply cry myself to sleep!" I tried to sound as innocent as possible. "Sure sure, how about we actually leave them alone this time. Just them and Miss Peregrine." Miss Sparrow said.
The other kids practically ran back to their rooms, most likely afraid to get scolded by Miss Sparrow. Alone, with Miss Sparrow, I stood in the middle of the doorway. Before I left I gave an awkward half-wave half-salut thingy instead of actually saying goodnight. Slightly embarrassed I turned on my heels and rushed back to my room. I just hope my gesture gave them a little laugh. Lord knows they probably needed one.

I woke up yet again. I turned my head looking over at my side table. The clock read 3:28am. Yet it felt like morning. I Layed back down on my pillow but couldn't seem to fall back asleep. 3:53am. It was no use. I swung my feet over the side of my bed, slipped on a light house coat to cover my pjs and opened my bedroom door. My back was turned to the hallway as I made sure no sound would squeak out of the hinges.
"Trouble sleeping?" I heard someone say from behind me. I gave a little jump. I was surprised to find someone else awake at this ungodly hour.
"I guess," I said with a light chuckle.
There Enoch stood, also in his night wear most likely borrowed from James. "I didn't realize your door was right across from mine," I told him, thinking out loud. "How about a walk?" He looked at me with a plain face. "Nothing better to do."
His attitude seemed to change quite a bit. It was three in the morning so I didn't expect him to be jumping off the walls but he could've at least tried to be friendlier. A lot of our walk seemed to be made up of awkward silence. I would say something then he would respond with one word or vise versa. I, again, had it with him.
I stopped walking to face him. "You know you're stuck here right?" I said with a tone in my voice. "Yes," was all he said. "So why are you acting like this," I asked. I quickly changed my mind. "Wait wait wait nevermind please don't answer that." My chest rose up and down. "I'm tired, you're tired. How about we just shut up and go back to sleep ok?" I said to him. "Fine with me, but I'm not the one talking," he replied while walking away from me. I could feel the smirk on his face. Oh what fun it would be to slap it right off.
The next morning(or only a few hours later) I made my way down the grand staircase. For some unforeseeable reason I was filled with energy. Usually my mornings wouldn't be as happy but I was in a good mood.
Breakfast was the same as usual. Everybody was a bit skeptical of my behaviour but I paid no mind to it. "Miss (L/N)," Miss Sparrow inquired. "You seem to be in the best of moods today, how about bringing Miss Peregrine her breakfast." It seemed more like a command then a question. Hesitantly I stood up from my chair, taking one last sip of juice before I left. "Right through the kitchen dear, the big platter." I was told.
I strutted into the kitchen and saw a massive bed tray waiting for me. Of course the whole thing had to be way too heavy for me to handle, meaning I was forced to use my peculiarity. With my hands raised just slightly I managed to lift the tray up ever so gently. Turning around I realized my hands were full. Nodding in the direction of the door, it swung open with such a force, more than I intended to. I Carefully made my way back into the dining room, all eyes on me seeing if I were to drop it or not.
"Need a hand, (Y/N)." James asked as he got up from his chair. "Nope, I can handle it." I replied. And just like that I was making my way down to Miss Peregrines room.
