Warnings: A little strong language

AJ's POV
"AJ?" Once he recognizes me, I jump up from my seat and hug him.  The three dark-haired boys exchanged confused looks with each other as we all sit down.  Luke was the first to speak up, being that he was the only one I knew besides Alex.  "How do you guys know each other?"

"Oh, we used to be best friends," Alex replies and I add, "Until this bitch had to move."

He shoots me an annoyed glare, knowing where the conversation was going, "Fuck off, you act like I had a cho—."

Referring to one of our last discussions from a few years ago, I mockingly cut him off, "I told you to jump out of the car but nooooo, it's too fucking dangerous, you could've broken your leg.  It would've healed."

"Do you two argue like this all the time?" the boy in a leather jacket asks.  I look back to Alex, giving him a look.  He returns it before bluntly answering, "Yeah, pretty much."

I laugh a little, thinking back at some of my memories before he moved.

***FLASHBACK***

"Alex!  Give it back!"

I reached for my journal that Alex had just stolen from my drawer.  "Come and get it," he waved the book in my face and took off running.  I rushed throughout the house, trying to catch him before he saw the very few things that I hadn't told him.  Our moms called out for us to slow down, but did we listen?  Nope.

I followed Alex out to the backyard and towards the tree house.  It had taken us months to convince our parents to build it.  If we weren't in my room or Alex's, we were there.

"Give it back!" I yelled to the back of his head. Given that he was taller, he had gotten a pretty big lead and was now at the ladder. I watched him chuck the book up through the opening. "No! I wanna see!"

"I'm gonna kill you!" I scream, finally reaching the ladder.  By the time I had gotten up there, he had already started flipping through the pages, careful to keep it out of my reach.  "Boring, boring, knew that already, boring, wait-WHAT?"

I froze, knowing that he had found the one of the pages I was hoping he wouldn't.  "Don't read that!"  He looked from me to the book, contemplating what to do.

"Well, now I have to read it."

I sank onto one of the beanbags on the floor, knowing that I wasn't going to get that back anytime soon.  The blonde looked over at me after he had finished reading, "AJ, this is amazing."

"No, it's not. Don't lie to me, blondie," I narrowed my eyes at him.  "I'm not," he replied defensively.  "Promise?" I hold my hand out.  He rolls his eyes playfully, making his way towards me, "You're a child." "I know," I reply with a fake smile. He takes my hand and we do our handshake, ending with a pinky promise, like always.

***END FLASHBACK***

"AJ? Hello? Earth to AJ?" I snap out my thoughts, seeing a hand waving in front of my face. "Hm?" I look between the four boys, who were all looking at me weird.

"What's going on in that head of yours, new girl?" Luke raises an eyebrow at me.  I shake my head, "Nothing.  Now are you gonna introduce me to these two or what?"

"Oh right, y-yeah.  Um..." he points to the leather jacket guy, "this is Reggie and that's Bobby."  Reggie gives me a little salute and Bobby just smiles. "Cool," I nod.

We spend the rest of lunch getting to know each other. I learned that Luke, Reggie, and Bobby have known each other since they were little and the three of them, plus Alex, had just started a band. Luke is the lead singer and guitarist, Reggie plays bass, Alex on the drums, and Bobby as their rhythm guitarist.  Thankfully, Alex didn't bring up that I sing, or well, used to.

The five of us get up from our seats when the bell rings. "So..." Alex starts, "we gotta go, but do you want to come to band practice today?"  I nod hesitantly, scared that he's planning something.  "Cool, see you in last period, new girl," Luke starts backing away from where I was standing.  I give him a confused look, not knowing that we had that class together.

"We have Chemistry together," he winks and turns around, causing me to roll my eyes, "You're such a fucking flirt."  "Nope, that's Reggie's job," he calls out as he walks towards the other guys.

***

I walk into my last period of the day, Chemistry. The teacher, Ms. O'Connor, thankfully didn't make a big deal of introducing me. I slid into the only empty seat left, which happened to be next to Luke.

"Hey, new girl. How's your day been?"

"My teachers are all shit, and I don't understand anything," I turn my frown into a fake smile, "But other than that, it's great."

He lightly chuckles, "If it makes you feel better, I don't understand anything either and I've been here the whole year."

"I don't think that's a good thing...but okay."

The period went by pretty quickly since Luke and I were just talking the whole time.  I'm normally a pretty reserved person with people I've just met, but Luke's energy makes everything just flow between us.

After Luke and I grab our stuff, I follow him out to the parking lot.  We meet the others, who were hanging out in front of Bobby's car.

"Took you long enough," Alex complained.  I flick him off, "Oh shut it, blondie."

The five of us hop in the car, Bobby driving, Reggie in the passenger seat, and me squeezed between Alex and Luke in the back.  Bobby pulls out of the parking lot, heading to where ever they have their band practice.
