Two weeks later the hospital released me so the first thing I did was get a hotel room. I can't drive just yet since I was shot in my leg. Apparently a nerve was hit so I have to go to physical therapy to learn to work it again. After the physical therapist clears me I can start driving. I didn't anticipate being here longer than maybe a month now since I can't drive.

The sooner I am out of Missouri the better. At least I have a little more time to figure out where I am gonna go.

I went to the Inn that was a couple blocks away from the hospital. I walked inside and explained I needed a room for a certain amount of time. I paid for it and got my room key. I went to my room and got a shower, then I had to go to physical therapy.

"Hello, my name is Melissa Jones. I'm here for my appointment with Mr. Brock."

"Have a seat and I'll let him know you are here."

I sat down and waited for what felt like ever.

"Ms. Jones?"

"Yes?"

"Come on back with me please. We will get you started."

I slowly got up so I didn't hurt myself and followed him back to the room. It was quite a big room with every machine and workout equipment.

"Have a seat Ms. Jones."

I did as he said and looked at him. He was a tall handsome man with beautiful hazel eyes and dirty blonde hair. He was built and his voice is deep and attractive. Shit Melissa stop. You just got out of the hospital and you just kicked Jake out of your life. This man is your physical therapist and that's all he will be.

"So I think we will start with walking a long distance with your crutch today and see how you do. I want to know if you run out of breath easily, if it starts hurting too bad, and different things like that."

I nodded and let him help me up.

"Alright, I will walk over to this stand here. I feel it is a good distance to start you at today from where my desk is. I want you to start walking and don't worry about if you fall or anything, I will help you back up."

"Okay Dr. Brock."

He stood over by the stand waiting for me. I took it slow because I didn't want to rush myself and hurt myself to severely. After a little bit of the distance I started to feel dizzy which has happened once today and it was at the hotel. Standing for a long period of time makes me dizzy and nauseous. I ended up almost falling when I got to him but he caught me.

"Thank you Dr. Brock."

"You're welcome."

He helped me back to the chair and sat me down. "So I noticed you were swaying back and forth. We're you dizzy?"

"Yes. I was also getting nauseous."

"I see."

He started writing stuff down on his paper and then looked back up at me.

"I will only keep you starting out at ten minutes everyday for two weeks. Just long enough for me to make sure you are making progress and long enough for me to explain things to you. After two weeks the time will go into twenty minutes a day that is if you are making progress. If not then it will stay at ten so I don't cause you and problems with your leg. Sound good?"

I nodded and he got up. I tried getting up but I still felt dizzy. Probably because I haven't eaten or drank anything in two days and now I'm doing this.

"Everything okay?"

I shook my head. "No. I still feel dizzy. Probably because I haven't eaten or had anything to drink in two days. Now I'm doing this. I'll be okay."
