The Chained "Wife"

Afte lunch Cain and Colton go outside, I help the mother clean up in the kitchen when the kitchen door pushes open and reviles a older man.

The mother turns around and shouts out a nervous laugh but covers it up by saying "Husband you scared me"

Husband? Husband? Coltons Father?!!

I don't feel safe. Like at all. Where is Colton?!

I back into the living room door giving them both space as the man just stares at her.

"I have missed you Wife, You have been taking care of yourself I see. I'm very please. Good job." he tells her and walks up to her before slapping her hard across her cheek.

I cover my mouth with my hand to keep from screaming.

She hold her cheek and looks up at him "Husband please-"

"You think im stupid Women? You didn't think I would have talked to my sons before coming in here. Coltons told me what you been doing. The lying, f0orgetting the rules. Did you forget everything I have taught you?! " he roars at her 

I turn my head and look outside to see Colton and Cain coming inside. Thank God.

I mean Coltons a monster but at least im used to that monster I don't need another one hurting me, I know how to please Colton and if I please him his sweet to me.

Colton opens the door, Walks inside and moves around his parents before walking up close to me and wrapping his around around my shoulder.

"Baby hush now stop shaking my Father wouldn't hurt you" He rubs my back in a soothing way.

Won't hurt me? I wanna scream are you sure cause he just slapped his own Wife!!!!

"Come meet him, iv told him all about you" he whispers before pulling me closer to his father

I wanna flee. I want to run far away from this man. This is the man thats probably made Colton into the man he is.

"Father this is my Wife Abby, Abby this is your father in Law" Colton tells us as he introduces us to each other

Father lets the mother go and turns to me and stares at me hard for a few minutes.

I get nervous under his eyes and I just want to hide beind Colton.

I hold my shaking hand out for him "It's nice to meet you sir" I whisper softly

His lips turn into a smile and he shakes my hand back putting a little force into the shake but he  smiles and and says" its nice to meet you as well young lady. My boys told me your a good wife. Keep that up" he tells me sternly

I nod my head not bothering to answer as his done dismissed me and turned towards Cain.

"My wifes in the barn where she will stay the night."

"ahh yes that lying business. I'll have to handle my wife as well." He spits at her before grabbing her arm and drags her down to the basement.

Well at least it ain't me.

5 minutes later

Colton, Cain and I are sitting in the living room watching some old movie as we hear the mother scream. Its hard to block out for me but for the boys it seems to not bother them one bit like they are very much used to it.

"We have to run into town tomorrow to get some supplies" Colton tells me gently

I perk up at the thought that I could maybe be able to be saved.

He shakes his head at me

"Sorry Wife you can not come. Maybe one day when I trust you more." He tells me gently

My shoulders just slump forward as I get depressed. I'm never leaving this fucking place.

"I could pick you up something?" Colton askes on a gentle whisper.

"How about a book?" I ask quietly

He smiles and nods his head.

"I can do that baby, any kind?"

"Just surprise me" I say to him and send him a smile.

He leans forward and kisses my head as we continue to watch the show.
