Merlin walked down the corridor of the Camelot palace after he cleaned out Arthur's chambers. The Warlock sighed as he continued to walk towards his own chambers, ready to help Gaius with his duties; the poor boy was exhausted.

"Help!"

Merlin stopped his his tracks, turning around to look for the owner of the voice that he heard in his head. Spotting nothing and nobody, the boy continued to walk through the palace, thinking it was just apart of his imagination.

The manservant entered the palace Square and walked down the stairs, only to stop one again in his tracks as he heard the voice once more.

"Help me! Please."

Merlin stopped to look around the Square, seeing many different Camelot residents selling or buying items to survive. The Warlock, curious about the voice in his head, continued to look around the square.

He stopped, seeing a small figure sitting on a stone ledge by a wooden wagon with a hood on, looking at him. The two made eye contact with one another; the Warlock and they young boy.

"Please. You have to help me."

It was at that moment that Merlin realised the boy was using telepathy to communicate with him.

"Help me."

Contemplating his options, Merlin noticed a group of guards entering the Square. They were obviously looking for the young boy, but Merlin didn't know what for.

"Search in there. Take the other side." A guard said, pointing around the Square. "You, did you see a boy run in here?"

"They're searching for me."

Merlin made eye contact with the young boy again. "Why are they after you?"

The boy closed his eyes, before shaking his head. He was absolutely terrified of what was going to happen to him; he saw his father sacrifice his own freedom to make sure that the boy was safe and could hide.

 "They're going to kill me."

"Guards!" One of the chief Knights shouted. "In here!"

The Ambrosius boy watched as the Knights that were in the Square searching, all headed up some stairs and disappearing into a building through a small door. Unfortunately, one of the guards stayed outside, looking around the area in case the boy appeared whilst they were gone.

Merlin, wanting to help to young, injured boy, ran to a side door of the Palace. He looked towards the guards, before he turned his gaze to the boy and nodded his head slightly to him.

"This way." Merlin called through his mind. "Run. Run!"

The boy got up from his spot on the stone ledge behind the car, and ran towards Merlin, holding his wounded arm. However, his cape caught the attention of the guard that waited outside.

"Hey. There he is!" He turned to look at the rest of the guards. "Alert the rest of the guards!"

As soon as the boy reached Merlin, the Warlock quickly grabbed the boy's hand on his uninjured arm and pulled him through the side door, running up the Griffin Stairway to avoid the guards that were chasing them.

"In there." The guard shouted. "Quick, down there. We've got 'im."

Merlin and the boy continued to run through the Palace, before they ended up by a familiar stair case. Without hesitation, Merlin led the boy up through the large and long corridor and into the room, where he knew help would be.
