Thousands of droplets fell from the grey clouds that hung above the city. The icy wind howled, as if to mourn the planet they just lost, which caused the trees to dance in despair. There was no sun in sight to fill the sky with bright, happy rays. Instead there was a downpour of darkness.

There was a knock on the door. Three short taps. An old woman, whose eyes were filled with wisdom and knowledge opened the door cautiously but was welcomed with nothing. Then a quiet cry pierced the silence. She looked down and gasped. There in front of her laid a drenched, shivering child whose eyes shone bright with innocence and naivety. Shocked at why anyone would leave a child out in this weather, the old lady took the child into her home to get her warm and comfortable.

15 years later...

Crystal woke up abruptly, breathing heavily. She sighed, bringing her knees to her chest as she sat up on her bed.  Laying her head on her knees, she tried to slow down her frantic breathing. The nightmare. It was the same nightmare she has been having for years, only everytime, it seems to get worse. A small light, a dark shadowy figure, agonising screams and then darkness.  These demons that plagued her mind. The silence after was the most haunting. The silence left her to her own thoughts. A quiet sob left her mouth as tears threatened to escape her eyes. Why was this happening to her? Why was it the same nightmare over and over again? Had it something to do with her past?

Another sigh left her as Crystal rubbed her sleepy eyes. She checked the time on her phone. 4:30 a.m it read. This gave her mind time to bring up thoughts she rather leave behind. Such as thoughts about her past and parents. Who were they? Were they alive or dead? Why did they abandon her? Questions about her parents were always left unanswered seeing that even her aunt, Mrs Faragonda, didn't even know who they were, despite the amount of research that has gone into it.  Nevertheless, Crystal knew one thing for certain.  Her parents had abandoned her. Left her alone. Left her alone in her time of need. Who does that to a two year old? What kind of parents leave their child drenched in the freezing cold?

Shaking these thoughts away, Crystal got out of bed and started to get ready. Her aunt wanted to see Crystal at her office at 6 and it was already 5. She had a quick shower before changing into a simple shirt and skinny jeans. After brushing her blonde hair, Crystal decided to make her way to the office.

Her aunt, Miss Faragonda, was the only family Crystal knew. Therefore they had a close bond and Crystal would do anything for her. She was thankful to Miss Faragonda for taking her in and adopting her when she found Crystal on her doorstep, rather than just taking her to an orphanage. Miss Faragonda raised Crystal with kindness, shaping to Crystal to be the intelligent, warm-hearted women she was today.

She homeschooled Crystal and taught her everything she knew. From different fairy forms to spells and potions, Crystal excelled in and was an advanced fairy all thanks to her aunt. Though she was stuck on her Charmix form for the pure fact that to achieve her Enchantix Crystal needed to save a person from her home planet, which was a lost cause as she didn't even know her planet of origin. That didn't stop Crystal from helping anyone who needed it, not because she wanted to achieve her Enchantix but because it was in her nature to be a helpful, considerate fairy.  As she was a weather fairy who could manipulate all element of weather (which was extremely rare seeing as fairies tend to only control a certain aspect of weather such as a mist fairy or snow fairy) and had advanced healing abilities, she sought to use her skills to help everyone, from the injured to the less experienced. This also tend to cause her to trust people a bit too easily, which was a weakness of hers.

When Crystal reached her aunt's office she knocked on the door. A muffled 'come in' was heard. Crystal walked in and closed the door behind her. To her surpise and curiousity, all the teachers were gathered around Mrs Faragonda's desk.

With slight hesitation, Crystal stepped forward and said "I can come back later if I'm interrupting an important meeting".

"No worries my child, we were all waiting for you," replied back Mrs Faragonda.

With a look of surprise and more confidence, Crystal moved forward and went to hug her aunt, before sitting down in the chair opposite her.

A moment of awkward silence went by.

"My dear myself and the other teachers were discussing your current situation and we want you to come out of your shell more as well as help around the school, " Mrs Faragonda said.

Crystal had a small frown on her face. What were they going to ask her to do? As Crystal was home-schooled by Mrs Faragonda, she learned the school curriculum quickly and had finished her school education by the age of 16. As a result she was not required to attend Alfea as a student and just stayed on the Alfea campus to be close to her aunt. Therefore she had plenty of free time on her hand which she used to sneak out (without being seen by the other students) to explore Magix or try out different hobbies in her own room, which was  located on the side where the teacher dorms were located. Crystal was lucky enough to have a whole dorm to herself, giving her freedom to decorate and do whatever she wanted to do. On the extremely rare occasion Crystal left her room openly, students always wondered who she was ,seeing as they saw her exit out of the teacher dorms.

" What did you have in mind?" Crystal questioned.

Mrs Faragonda responded " We would like you to start attending classes, not as a student but as a teacher's assistant. I would also like you to share a room with other fairies your age so we all thought it would be best that for this year you move in with the Winx girls and share a room with Stella."

An expression of shock replaced the frown that was on Crystal's face. This was not what she was expecting at all. The shock then was replaced with a smile. This was Crystal's chance to make friends.  As she didn't attend school, she didn't have much friends. Unless you count the teachers' company she had as friends she didn't have any except from one.

This one friend ,who Crystal actually considered to be her best friend, wasn't a fairy. He attends Red Fountain, a boarding school for Specialists and Crystal met him one time when she was out exploring Magix. Ever since that time they bumped into each- quite literally- him and Crystal have stayed in contact, meeting up occasionly and talking about the most random funny topics to having the most serious, deep conversations. Crystal knew she could count on him for anything and he came to Crystal for advice and knew he could count on her for anything. He knew that even if he pushed Crystal away, she would still be there for him.

Crystal knew she would want to jump at the opportunity to make new friends, especially if it was making a friendship with The Winx. She knew all about the Winx. How they fought valiantly against enemies such as The Trix and Lord Darkar and had the resilience to keep going even if times were tough. At the rate they were going, The Winx for sure looked like they were going to be the new Guardians of Magix, like the Company of Light, except with more people and a keener eye for fashion. Crystal wished she had the confidence to come out of her shell and save people on a bigger level, like the Winx were.

Crystal considered what her aunt and the other teachers were offering. Maybe this was a good idea that they were proposing. With a smile on her face, Crystal said "Yes I would like to do this and it seems like a good idea."

Miss Faragonda beamed at her. "Well I am happy that you like the idea. You will start today and move into your new dorm after the classes. "

Thanking her aunt, Crystal asked which teachers she would be helping out first.

Miss Griselda pointed out that Crystal would be helping her first and the other teachers each gave her a schedule for when Crystal was supposed to help them.

Thanking all the teachers and waving them goodbye, Crystal left the office and headed back to her own dorm to pack up some of her belongings.

After packing up a few of her essential belongings, Crystal decided to video call her best friend ,who she knew would help her calm down her thoughts and nerves, to let him know about the good news. Surprisingly, he was awake, although she knew that he would never miss any of her calls and she would never miss any of his calls (it was almost like an unsaid rule). He helped her calm down her nerves by reminding her to be herself and reassuring her that nothing astronomically bad was going to happen. They caught up for a while before he needed to go get ready for his own lessons.

The video call came to a stop. Crystal was left with nothing. Nothing but her own thoughts yet again.
