"Why don't you just sit there and look pretty?" Flora smirked. Her signature red lips widened as she swept her gaze over me from head to toe. "Seems like you might need the rest."

"What?" Tightening my hold on Leo's journal, I looked over my body when Flora gave me a pointed look. The crumpled shirt and no bottoms plus my messy hair. Ah, damn it Flora. Way to go and point out the obvious! "We didn't even do anything," I grumbled.

Taking a seat at the table, I sat criss-cross applesauce and watched them cook. Pride cooked the mushrooms and bacon together while Flora finished chopping the onion. One pot on the stove was boiling with long noodles. My mouth salivated when chunks of chicken and onions were added. Chicken alfredo was one of my favorite meals and I couldn't wait for dinner.

"Where's Leo?"

"He's taking a shower," I replied. I flipped open the journal to avoid Flora's raised brows. Heat enveloped my cheeks as I recalled the, ah, reason for his sudden cold bath. Sometimes, I pitied men for how obviously aroused they could get. With women we had it much easier. It wasn't like we popped boners every time we got turned on.

My gaze met Flora's and we chuckled at the unspoken words between us. She wiped her hands with the dirty towel and joined me at the table. Her hair was pulled into a messy bun and she wore a once-white apron over her red spring dress. She reminded me of a young mother preparing a meal for her starving children.

"So," she said. "How big was it?"

"Flora!" I reached across the table to hit her with the heavy journal. "We just kissed-"

"Aha!" Flora pointed an accusing finger at me, her red mouth pulling into an even wider smirk. "You said you didn't even do anything!"

I balked at her accomplished grin, chastising myself internally. She set me up so that I'd reveal what actually happened in there! What a smart and sneaky minx she was turning out to be.

"Kissing is barely anything," I replied coolly. Slipping on a mask of faux innocence, I raised Leo's journal to cover my face and read more of his past. It was a much needed distraction to calm the thumping of my heart and the yearning between my legs.

Kissing is barely anything my ass.

Kissing my Mate already felt like sex and boy was I starving.
