Song: late night sparring with karma akabane: a playlist by slowed Haru

Madness didn't sweep us all away until September 19th.

Before that, the first three days of waiting passed smoothly. Reign stuck to his books and Pride to his magick. Flora continued to help where she could and Sky fell deeper and deeper into an abyss I knew not how to help her out of. Leo and I, no surprise, spent the days in our room drawing and kissing. Watching the night sky in the early am hours while everyone else was in a deep sleep.

Alas, the contentment didn't last very long.

On the fourth day of waiting for the Autumnal Equinox we resorted to old board games and decks of Uno. Friendly competition resulted in full fledged screaming matches between Reign and Sky. None of us wanted to play with Flora anymore. She hoarded the plus four cards until she could make someone draw sixteen cards in one go.

We threw the deck out and stopped playing games.

By the fifth day of waiting Pride started a fire in the kitchen and almost blew up the cottage. He called it an experiment "gone wrong." It was something he'd read in a book somewhere.

He's not allowed to brew things inside the house anymore. I've banished him to the backyard.

The most horrendous event came on the sixth day of waiting. I finally walked in on Pride and Flora having sex. The kitchen counter was now a cursed object for me. I would never get over the knowledge that Pride was submissive in bed.

If I wasn't a crucial part to my race's survival, I'd gouge my eyes out and leap off a cliff. There's no amount of bleach in the world to cleanse and purify my eyes. I'll be forever haunted by the image of those two defiling the place I used to make my sandwiches at.

On the sixth day of waiting I found out that sleeping in bed all day was impossible for someone like me. I felt like a waste of space. Like I wasn't even living. I was merely just existing.

I hated that feeling and I hated that day the most.

The only plus was that I got to lay next to Leo undisturbed. He liked to be little spoon and he hogged all the blankets whenever he was in a deep sleep. I was cold a lot that day but I didn't mind. I didn't mind one bit.

Today, on the 19th, madness and insanity finally cracked each and every one of us. Hunting for the ring "secretly" wasn't enough to sustain Sky anymore. Pride and Flora needed something more to do than have sex. Leo was sick of his art and I couldn't stand another day in bed. Hell, even Reign was sick and tired of reading.

If Reign was tired of reading, then you know the boredom was real.

Which was why we'd spent hours in the backyard sparring to relieve ourselves of tension and monotony.

With a wide smirk, I swept Leo's leg for the umpteenth time, sending him to the ground. The back of his head slammed against the decaying grass. He huffed, spearing me with a frustrated gaze.

"So, how's your day going so far?"

"Oh, fantastic! Yeah, it was going pretty great until," Leo checked his watch, "11:54 when you started kicking my ass."

"Started?" I faked helping him up, grinning widely before pulling my offer away at the last minute. "I think you mean continued. You haven't landed a punch since I first let you at," I raised a brow and pretended to think, "8:22."

"We were still in bed at 8:22."

"Ah," I chuckled. "Then I guess you still haven't landed a punch. Pity."
