Once the train pulled away and Jungkook was long out of sight, I flopped down into the nearest chair, my mind reeling from my realisation.

I was in love.

I was in love with him.

I was in love with Jungkook.

I couldn't help but smile big as my heart sang with the feeling, revelling in the newness of it all. Already, I couldn't wait to see him again tomorrow and found myself wondering if he had made it home yet, or if he was still sprinting through the rain that was battering against the windows of the train even now.

Suddenly, my phone vibrated in my bag once more, jolting my attention away from my thoughts of the hybrid momentarily. Reaching to open my bag, the squishing sound that met my ears when I moved reminded me that I was in fact completely soaked not to mention absolutely freezing. A shiver ran through me as I ran my thumb across the screen of my phone to check the notifications.

My heart clenched.

There was a message from my father.

Nervously, I bit my lip as I tapped on the message to open it. Quickly scanning through his words, my feelings went from anxious to elated in an instant.

>Dad: I've been called out of town for a business meeting. Don't expect me back until late Monday night. Be sure you keep up your studies.

A reprieve!

I almost wilted against the quickly dampening chair I sat on, relief washing through me at the thought of an evening as well as almost four entire days without my father's constant overbearing presence. It felt impossible for this day to get any better.

Once I made it back to my empty home I immediately headed for my bathroom upstairs, stripping off my waterlogged clothes before running the hottest shower my skin could bear. After drying off, I smiled happily as I pulled on a fluffy bear onesie that I only ever wore when my father was away from home on business. He said it was silly and that I was much too old to wear such a childish thing. He couldn't understand that sometimes I just felt like slipping into a mindset that was a little younger and that let me find comfort in small things; Such as wearing a fluffy bear onesie.

Humming happily to myself, I grabbed my phone from my bag, flipping the hood of my onesie up over my damp hair before bouncing downstairs to the kitchen.

After setting my phone on the counter, I rummaged in the cupboard before pulling out my favourite brand of ramen and boiling a pot of water. Just as I had dropped the noodles and little packets of broth and vegetables into the water, my phone vibrated several times in quick succession against the hard surface of the counter it rested on. Setting the lid over my noodles to let them cook, I rushed to check the screen as it vibrated yet again. My face automatically lit up in a grin, seeing who it was.

>Jungkook: Y/N!!!
>Jungkook: are you back home yet??
>Jungkook: you should have a really hot bath!!
>Jungkook: and drink some soup so you don't catch cold!! 🥶
>Jungkook: um i miss you and hope you're okay 😁🥰😊

I felt my lips curl up into another involuntary smile as I read the bunny's back to back messages of sweet concern. I typed quickly, giggling after sending the first message to mimic his tone.

>Me: JUNGKOOKIE!!!!!!!
>Me: i'm home now ☺️
>Me: don't worry, i'm warm and just about to eat spicy noodles
>Me: how about you? are you warm? have you eaten?
>Me: i miss you too hehe 🙈🥰

I blushed as I sent the last message, keeping the phone in my hand and staring delightedly as typing bubbles appeared. I stirred my noodles with distraction as I watched the screen.
