Villain

She is always the villain, and he is always the victim. Even when someone says "Oh look someone stubbed their toe there". "She did it" he says.

"Why can't the government solve the world hunger problem?"

"Because she exists" he says

"Why do we have problems in our lives?"

"Because she is a part of our lives." He retorts without even a thought of how she feels. He thinks it's okay to do this to her. To play with her feelings even when he knows that she can't deal with any more insecurities.

Then what does she say? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Why doesn't she defend herself you might ask. "Because he is my older brother" she answers.

Because of all of the bullying she went through, she doesn't have any self-esteem. She can't even compliment herself for anything. She never seems to do enough for herself. She is never good enough even in her own eyes.

Sometimes he starts a compliment to her, so she feels that their relationship is taking a better route. Then he ends it with sarcasm, and her small heart shatters again into a million pieces.

She keeps thinking " he is going to re-assure me one day."

" He is going to be by my side in the bigger problems and that's what matters."

But deep down she knows this is not true.

And so she lives off of empty promises to herself...
