Love is so fucking toxic y'know? Sure there are things that are beautiful to recall and remember. But the downsides tend to outshine them. I placed my two textbooks into my locker, shutting it afterwards.

"So you're single again?", The words ring throughout my ears. I feel my heart sink, was I? Was I not? The answer is far from clear.

I turn around finding Athena, "I-i'm not sure A", her eyes burned through mine, searching for a response as I shrugged and slumped my shoulders.

A puzzled look spreads across her face, while her brows furrow together, "Not sure? What does that mean?"

I let out a deep sigh, "Noah, he's just confusing, he ruined my relationship-", I shake my head and chew on my bottom lip in frustration.

She chuckles in front of me, causing me to look up in confusion, "Denali, didn't you cheat on Vinnie?", she states bluntly.

I freeze as the words stung through me, "How did yo—", she really did know me.

"We've been friends for the longest time, you think I can't tell when your guilty or lying?", she crosses her arms as she rose a brow.

"We were just going to study and I just gave in because you know how I still had feelings for him and I—" my words jumbled together as I spoke quickly through guilt and embarrassment.

"Yes yes, I know", she places her hands on my shoulders, "Let's just forget it, but you ruined your own relationship before Noah did.", she speaks the aggressive words so calmly as she rubs her palms over my shoulder blades. The side of her mouth tilting into a relieving smirk.

"Harsh", I sigh, it was the absolute truth. I was stupid about the situation, "The thing is, I care for them both. Me and Noah have had more memories, good and bad. I still love him."

"Do you now? Hmm.." the sudden deep voice making my heart jolt, as I felt him place his face in the crook of my neck, I gasp lightly as I felt him placing a soft kiss as he wrapped his arms around my waist.

I huff, shoving him off me. Trying to hold my angry front together. But man, did it feel good to be touched like that and by him.

"Haven't seen you two together in a while", Athena slightly smiles, her eyes flicking between Noah and I. She loved us together, but if I hated him she would be right behind me and loathe him just as much if not more.

"We're not togeth-", I fight to blurt out the words knowing exactly that he would disagree.

"We just started dating again yesterday," Noah smolders as he places his large, but beautiful arm around me. His hand dangling off of my shoulder and hovering just above my breast.

"Didn't you and Vinni-",

"We don't speak his name Athena", he warns as he looked down at my face that holds the worst attitude imaginable within, the bell rings as 5th period began.

She simply nods, the tension becoming awkward as her mind scrambles to find a way to eject herself from the conversation.

"Um, I'm going to meet up with Blake, so I'll see you two lovebirds later k?" she walks off, kissing me on my cheek before she strutted down the hallway and soon disappeared.

I remove Noah's arm from me as the halls began to flood with other students. "I need to go now", I speak awkwardly while failing to hide the blush arising on my pale cheeks. He nods as his gorgeous eyes peered into mine.

"Hey" he says huskily, taking notice in the rosy tone of my flushed skin. He reaches his hand cautiously to cup my cheek. I sigh as I find myself leaning into his palm for more. My eyes flutter shut as his thumb began running over my cheek.
