-In the Lost Cities-

Tam's pov:

"So... " Marella says, twisting the braid wrapped around her finger tighter, "What you want us to do... is help you guys escape to the Forbidden Cities, without being caught by the Black Swan or Council, and then tell them that you guys are on a "super secret mission" as a cover-up story?"

"Yep!" Keefe yells, as everyone else groans.

Marella blinks, and then nods her head, like she's actually impressed, "Wow. I... wow. I mean, I know for you guys this is probably just an everyday mission, but not gonna lie, you guys have some issues."

I roll my eyes, not sure whether to agree with her, or tell her that the Black Swan is the one that has issues.

Stina-- on the other hand, seemed to be laughing her head off at Marella's remark.

Then there's a loud sigh, "Who invited her again?" Dex asks.

Stina smirks, "Why don't you ask the council? They obviously chose me for Team Valiant for a reason."

"Or maybe they're just too afraid to admit that they don't have a reason?" Keefe suggests.

Stina glares at him, "Well it's not like you're even on the team."

"Can we all just stop arguing and go back to what we were talking about?" I finally sigh, waving my hands.

"Works with me," Wylie mumbles, as he leans against the cushioned swing.

After the Black Swan and council finished their "private" conversation, we'd all gotten sent back home like nothing had happened. But before we left, Keefe had told us to come to Shores of Solace later to help plan his terrible plan.

And yes, the plan is absolutely terrible.

Not to mention, the group was now way too big... now that Keefe had decided to invite Wylie and Marella. And then Biana suggested we should invite Stina of all people because she was part of that Team Valiant thing.

Good thing Keefe's dad wasn't home though.

I do not want to know how he would've reacted to Keefe's plan.

Then out of the corner of my eye, I see Fitz rub his forehead, "Okay. Keefe... here's the thing. I know you've had some pretty terrible plans in the past, and somehow you've pulled them off.. but... this one? I.. I don't think--"

"Aw c'mon Fitzy," Keefe interrupts, "Have faith in The Hair--"

"The what?" I had to ask, snorting.

Keefe wheels his attention all towards me, "The Hair, Bangs Boy. Did you forget my name was Lord Hunkyhair?"

"Wowwww... " Stina interrupts in awe, "You guys really do have issues."

"It's one of a kind," Linh tells her, giving her a bright smile along with it.

I glance towards Linh, and she gives me a look back.

Sometimes with Linh, I can't tell if she's just being oblivious and optimistic, or if she's being sarcastic and passive aggressive.

Probably both.

"Anyways," Marella pipes up again, breaking the silence, "If you want my opinion on this, then I'll say that you shouldn't go sneaking off without the Black Swan knowing."
