Marinette and Alya made their way down the street, over to the Coffee shop. By the time they had arrived, it was already 5:00. Adrien's fencing was at 5:30 and the 2 girls had their fingers crossed that Adrien could make it. It wasn't until Alya had ordered them drinks and taken a seat with Marinette that everything hit her. She was able to act cool and nonchalant when asked about the double date idea, but now, she was clueless about what she was going to say when the boys arrived.

"Okay, so a quick re-run." Alya said, placing a Latte in front of her and pulling out a chair for herself, "Adrien Agreste, famous model, son of fashion designer Gabriel Agreste, is coming to have coffee with you."

"Us." Marinette corrected. She had set a goal for herself that she would not stutter and slip up on her words like she always did. She was no good with scripts and always sounded way too forced so she would not speak unless she needed to. Besides, she couldn't stay for long, she needed to do her rounds for the night as Ladybug.

"Yeah, yeah, whatever." Alya waved her bestfriend off. "So when do you 2 plan on confessing your undying love for each other?"

Marinette tried to look upset at her but failed and only blushed more than she had been before. Alya let out a laugh. "You 2 are so in love with each other, you're just stuck in wonderland whenever you try and talk to him."

"Well that'll change today," Marinette said with determination, and a little louder than she had wanted. "Today, I will have a complete and normal conversation with the love of my life and not trip over my words!"

Alya rolled her eyes but supported her friend anyways. "Good luck girl. I'm sure it is gonna be great." She encouraged.

Soon enough, 5:30 rolled around and Nino was dropped off at the Coffee shop. He went inside and met the girls, taking a seat by them and pulling out his poetry homework.

"So, do any of you dudes even know what we are doing?" Nino asked, staring at the pages of his book and the writing on his notebook as if they were in a different language.

"I think I'm the only one who actually knows what we are learning." Alya piped up. "Nino is always dosing off and Marinette and Adrien are never where they are supposed to be." She and Nino laughed.

"Yeah." Nino said, "They really are meant for each other."

Marinette blushed fiercely and the others laughed. Suddenly the bell of the coffee shop rung and Adrien walked in, a bag slung over his shoulder and he carried a Poetry book in his hand. Marinette could have shown there was a bright, golden glow surrounding him. He walked over to them and took a seat next to Nino, right across from Marinette.

"Hey guys," he said and set his bag on the table along with his book.

"Hey!"

"Hey man."

Marinette was silent and didn't say a word. She just gawked at the boy sitting across from her.

"Hi Marinette," Adrien said, opening his book to the chapter they had been assigned.

"Oh! Er- hi!" She said and waved slightly. Alya stifled a laugh and Marinette blushed yet again. By the end of the 4 teens' visit, Marinette would have blushed more in the hours they were there than she had her whole life.

The group got to work on the homework. Alya making sure Adrien understood the work, Nino staring at a blank page of paper, and Marinette watching Adrien 97% of the time. A small voice in her head called out to her telling her to stay focused. To act natural around Adrien.

'Imagine you are talking to Cat Noir.'  That had become her new tactic. Marinette considered Cat Noir to be one of her closest friends, she told him everything that she could and trusted him with her life. She inhaled loudly and looked down at her paper. Her homework was to read about French Poetry and write her own Poetry piece.
