Four years...

A lot can change in that amount of time. People grow, relationships grow stronger or weaker and people live or die. Change was part of the various cycles that one had to experience throughout life and Jimin knew that he was no different. Given how his life started and where he was now, a small part of him always felt guilty that he'd found a way out of his likely intended destiny. Even though his therapist told him from the start, things wouldn't be easy, after four years of trying he had expected to have something to show for his hard work. Much to his surprise, on this day in particular, he did. Jimin slowly blinked as he stared down at the little pink and white stick in his hand. His stomach had been in knots since he'd brought it home and peed on it. Somehow, this little stick was going to determine the course his life took, and it was fucking horrifying. Jimin was no stranger to the idea, being a mother but after his last failure, it had honestly been something he wanted to avoid like the plague.

But four years later, after that shit show had been put to rest, his husband, mate and Alpha's patience deserved to be rewarded. Jungkook wanted a family with Jimin. He'd made that quite clear for a very long time. Jimin was full of excuses and hesitation and felt extremely grateful that his mate was a patient man. Jungkook was just one of those blessings in his life that Jimin didn't feel he deserved in the slightest. It was thanks to Jungkook that Jimin wasn't still on the street. Forced on his knees for drug dealers, pimps and gang members. The reason he was four years clean of any drugs or alcohol. Jungkook was the reason that Jimin was no longer considered trash on the street. The least he could do was give the Alpha a pup or two, right? That is what a normal Omega did for their Alpha. Ah, if only Jimin could group himself in that normal category.

Jimin knew he was anything but normal. He felt like a misplaced sock sometimes. Jungkook, his mate, was the head of the entire police force in Seoul. That meant he was fairly high up on the food chain in political society. It was a positioned well earned by his Alpha he would brag. Since Jungkook took over four years ago, the city saw more good days than bad. There would always be crime, violence and drugs but at least the city wasn't crawling in it like before. It didn't feel so much like an uphill battle anymore. Jungkook fought hard to get certain policies and such put in place and the change could be seen within the city. There was still a lot of work to do, but if anyone could do it, it was Jeon Jungkook. Jimin on the other hand never felt worthy to be the husband of such a man.

Even though Jungkook would get upset when he talked or thought like that, he couldn't help it. Jimin knew what people in Jungkook's circles saw when they looked at him. Since he played a major part in bringing down a large crime ring that consisted of bad guys and bad cops, his past was an open book for all to read and they didn't hide their judgement. Often Jimin would hear people remark how Jungkook could do better and hell, Jimin agreed with them. He wasn't sure what Jungkook saw in him. The other seem to have these lists of reasons why he could only have Jimin and no one else. It was because of that, Jimin liked to be selfish and openly claim that Jungkook was his and he wouldn't give the man up.

So, to sum it up, it hadn't been an easy four years, but it was the journey that Jimin was hoping would lead him to his eventual destination – happiness.

Jimin sucked in a breath when the pregnancy test started to display the result, holding his breath as he waited and when the little '+' showed he froze completely. It was positive? It was positive! Jimin gasped, letting out a little squeal after.
