Jimin would admit, he was a bit nervous about Hoseok's sudden appearance.

Hoseok was a part of his past, the life before he truly reconnected with Jungkook. If it hadn't been for Hoseok, he probably wouldn't have survived as long as he had. But as grateful as Jimin was to the other, he also knew that Hoseok had a habit, a bad habit of getting in over his head. The only saving grace for the other was that he didn't ever set out to hurt someone, it just seemed to happen. Jimin opened the bedroom closet doors and stood on his tip toes, pushing a few things on the shelf aside before grabbing a box with a bit of effort. He pulled it down and took a few graceful steps back to avoid losing his balance and falling on his ass. Jimin let out a sigh as he turned and set the box on the bed, staring at it for a moment. This box had all that was left of his life before in it. It almost seemed wrong to open it by himself, like a pup that shouldn't be in the cookie jar.

Jimin wet his lips with his tongue before he slipped his fingers around the top of the box, pulling it off and setting it aside. He stared down at the various items and each one brought back a painful memory with it. Jimin's eyes lowered before he pushed a few things around and found the worn burner cellphone that Hoseok asked him to use. Jimin picked it up, turning and sitting on the edge of the bed as he pressed the power button. Jimin quickly glanced at the clock on the nightstand and then back to the phone, grateful when it came on. The screen lit up green and the phone made an awful beeping noise before it settled. Jimin then started to dial the number he still knew by heart and placed the phone to his ear as he waited. It only rang a couple times before someone picked up.

"Hey Min!" Hoseok's voice came through loud and clear.

"Hey Hyung. Okay, so what's going on?" Jimin asked.

"Wow, straight to business huh? I haven't heard your pretty voice in years, let me enjoy it a little with some idle chatter." Hoseok said causing Jimin to roll his eyes.

"And whose fault is that?" Jimin asked.

"Fair enough. Fine, fine. Straight to business then." Hoseok said, pausing for a moment before he continued. "So, before I say anything, are you alone?"

Jimin's brows furrowed, his eyes narrowing a little.

"I am, but why does that matter?" Jimin asked.

Hoseok was quiet a little too long for Jimin's liking.

"Hyung?" Jimin called.

"Jimin, listen, I am going to be honest, I am putting myself in a lot of danger by talking to you right now." Hoseok said, his voice getting low.

Jimin swallowed.

"Danger? The hell does that mean. Hoseok, what the fuck is going on? You contact me after all this time!? Why? What did you do!?" Jimin hissed, feeling his anxiety spike.

Hoseok was silent once more but before Jimin could speak, his voice cut through the silence.

"Jimin, Valentine is back." Hoseok said.

Jimin's eyes slowly widened as his skin paled almost instantly, his grip around the phone tightened until his knuckles matched the pale tone of the rest of him. It took him a moment to find his voice.

"W – what? Y – You are joking. Hoseok...please tell me you are fucking joking?" Jimin whispered.

"I wish I was Min, fuck, but I am not. Valentine is back and he is on a war path. I wanted to give you a chance, so that is why I broke my promise to myself and reached out to you." Hoseok said.

Jimin's eyes lowered, his head falling soon after.

"Does...he know?" Jimin asked.

"That you are the reason his branch was shut down over here? That he lost money? His product and one of his best dealers is in prison?" Hoseok said.

Jimin closed his eyes as he felt a sudden rush of nausea.

"Hyung, I – "Jimin started, but was cut off as Hoseok sighed heavily on the other end.

"I know, but there is no point in running Min. You are probably safer with that Alpha of yours, but for how long, I don't know." Hoseok said.

Jimin's mind flashed to his conversation with Jungkook about the possible hit put out on him and it all made sense now. Jimin raised his free hand and placed it over his face as he tried to hold down the urge to scream, shout and cry.

"Hyung, I – I'm pregnant. I – I just..." Jimin whispered, his voice shaking.

"I can't tell you what to do Min, shit, I don't even know what I am going to do honestly. But at least you know, it is up to you to decide your next move. We both know how Valentine handles things. He will crush everything around you before he deals the final blow." Hoseok said.

Jimin lowered his hand to over his mouth as he stared at the closet in front of him.

"I have to do something." Jimin said.

"Like what? You and I both know that even with the police behind you, you can't take on Valentine. If there is one man to be afraid of in this world, it is him." Hoseok said.

"True, but I belonged to him first." Jimin said.

"Once upon a time, it is true you were his favorite, but do you think he will forgive what you did for a piece of ass?" Hoseok asked.

"He has a soft spot for me. I can use that, somehow." Jimin said before he shifted to stand up, quickly grabbing a bag from the shelf and tossing it on the bed.

"Use it? Min, no, no! This is a very bad idea! Don't try to run off and do something fucking stupid all on your own!" Hoseok said, his voice full of panic.

"If I don't do something, everyone I care about is in danger. Jungkook is good, all of his men too but Valentine is on a whole other level and he won't hesitate to burn this city down to get his way." Jimin said as he started to stuff clothes into his bag as he moved around the room.

"Jimin! Would you just slow down and listen to me!?" Hoseok said.

Jimin paused, his face filling with annoyance.

"Either help me or I am hanging up. I am not going to just sit here and wait to be fucking killed. I know how to play the game." Jimin said, a slight growl lacing his voice.

Hoseok was quiet for a long while once more before he sighed heavily, and shuffling could be heard on his end as well.

"Fine, only because I can't let you go out and get killed with a pup inside of you. But we do this together." Hoseok said.

Jimin felt a bit relieved as he nodded, despite Hoseok not being able to see him. He then closed his eyes.

"Okay." Jimin said.

"What about your Alpha?" Hoseok asked.

"I will...figure out something. At least if Jungkook is busy looking for me, he won't be poking around in Valentine's affairs in the city. It will buy some time." Jimin said.

"I hope you know what you are doing." Hoseok said.

"Do I ever?" Jimin asked.

"Haha, cute. Meet me in the old spot in twenty?" Hoseok said.

"Yeah, don't be late." Jimin said.

"Right. Cause I am so eager to rush to my death." Hoseok said.

The two of them hung up and Jimin let out a heavy sigh. Tossing the phone onto the bed as he pushed his fingers through his hair, slicking it back as he looked around the room. How could this happen? Why now? Valentine hadn't been in Korea in years. To avoid a weighty murder charge, he'd fled and set up shot across the world. To come back now, there must be more than losing the small bit of business that Jinwoo brought in. Jimin knew Jungkook was going to be pissed. He was sure his mate could already feel like something was wrong. Jimin closed his eyes tight as he tugged at his hair a bit. Jimin should have known things were too good to be true.

Life was never that easy or simple.
