KAMINARI WOKE UP early that next morning, 2 hours earlier than his alarm to be exact. He was worried all night about y/n, wondering if she was okay after her fearful nightmare.

He couldn't erase the image from his head. The bright, bubbly, sugarplum smelling girl had turned into a trembling, frightened mess, desperate for comfort.

After crying in his chest for a good 5 minutes, she pushed him away, insisting he'd go back to his dorm and get some sleep. She said she'd be "fine" and wanted to be alone.

Kaminari couldn't tell if she meant it...or just didn't want to be helped.

He entered the common area quietly at the break of dawn, only to here someone already in the kitchen. It sounded like they were setting the breakfast tables for the class later, the sound of ceramic plates and metal silverware scraping against the wood surfaces.

As he turned the corner of the dimly lit area, the early morning sunshine immediately glistened onto the brown skin of a particular girl, her freshly dressed and put together for the day.

Her socks rode up her thighs, and her skirt was folded up extra high today (he could tell because he could see the ends of her biker shorts underneath. usually he'd have to bend down to see it.)

Rather than wearing her signature french braids, she had her hair pulled back into a low ponytail. A new look, he assumed.

But one thing that stood out to him was her eye bags. He noticed they weren't as dark as they were last night.

Does she cover them with makeup?...But she looks so pretty with them...

Y/n glanced up from the table, setting down the last napkin. "Oh, morning Kaminari." She greeted, not bothering to use her "preppy girl" voice. But her voice didn't sound annoyed or anything, more like she was just comfortable enough around him that she didn't feel obligated to put on a facade.

"Oh, morning...What are you doing up so early?"

"I could ask you the same thing." She eyed him as he walked to the fridge, taking out a water bottle to drink. "Who do you think has been putting food on the table in the mornings for the past few months?"
