As the staff quickly clipped on their microphones, the three boys were shoved out on the left wing of the stage. They heard the announcers recite their group number and region. And with that they nervously walked out onto the stage before the lights went up.
"Here we go"
Jimin thought as he heart was pounding and his mind was racing. He realized there was no time for that and flipped a switch so he would become confident.
They did a cover of "Blue Hour" by TXT for their audition. As soon as the music began, all the anxiety was suddenly replaced with adrenaline and confidence. Jimin had never felt more alive. He had performed at school events in front of his classmates and teachers but he had never actually performed in front of professionals and thousands - no, maybe millions of people in the audience and through TV.
"마법 속에 갇히고파~ BLUE HOUR!"
The boys finished performing as the crowns screamed. They felt like real idols.
It was time to introduce themselves to the judges and all that, but regardless of what they were told they knew that they'd always stick together.
The boys did their little introductions and we're awaiting their feedback. By this time, their anxiety had come back and they were anticipating whatever the professionals had to say.
Jimin was quite sure they'd get through, but he couldn't be certain.
"You three have so much potential. I mean, you're talented, good looking, and just have amazing chemistry. One thing I would have you work on is matching each other's energy. That's something that will come through the more you guys practice together but it's just something I noticed. Overall, it was an outstanding performance. I especially loved Jimin's energy. Thank you guys."
Said Hitman Bang of BigHit entertainment. The rest of them told them the same thing. That they were outstanding and talented. For that, they were sure that they'd get into a company all together.
They walked off the stage and into the hallways again with huge smiles.
"BRO WE KILLED IT"
Exclaimed Taehyung.
"HELL YEAH WE DID! We are totally celebrating after this. Whether we get into a company or not we'll go eat something fancy."
Hoseok looked at the other boys with hope.
"YES LET'S DO IT! But I know we'll get into a company because I mean, look at us. We are T A L E N T E D."
Jimin said excitedly. But quiet enough that the other teams wouldn't hear him.
The staff had set out a bunch of snacks for the young performers so Tae being Tae, he grabbed a ton of them and brought them over. It was expected that they'd be hungry after a performance like that.
"Oh great. I was kind of starving."
Jimin said with relief has he went to take a bag of chips.
"Who said this was for you?"
Taehyung said with his dumb signature smirk.
"I- are you joking?"
Jimin said, cracking up.
"Of course he is! Do you really think that he could eat all of that?"
Hoseok laughed before elbowing Taehyung in the arm.
The rest of the performers went, taking up about another hour. After that, all the students were called to the stage to find out which group would be accepted by what company.
"Thank you all for your hard work and time. Unfortunately only 1 group from each school will be getting the opportunity of becoming a trainee. With all that said, let's announce the winning groups."
Said the announcer.
Jimin's heart was pounding out of his chest. He was so nervous but so hopeful that they'd get into a company. Specifically they all wanted BigHit but they'd be grateful with whatever company they got into.
"... From Seoul, we have team 124. Accepted by BigHit entertainment."
The announcer said excitedly.
"WHAT? OMG- REALLY?"
Jimin thought as the boys all had stunned looks on their faces.
"Thank you so much for this opportunity. We promise to work hard so we can debut and make fans proud. Please support us and our company. Thank you!"
Jimin did a little acceptance speech. He was on the brink of tears. He couldn't believe that they made it. Finally. After all those hours of no sleep and just practice they finally made it. They knew that it wasn't even near the hardest part yet but it was a very important step to reach their dreams. They were so glad that they all got into the same company. Some groups had to be split apart because only one or two members got in.
The ceremony ended and they went backstage to their dressing room to gather their things.
"WE DID IT. WE ACTUALLY DID IT!"
Taehyung was exploding with excitement.
"I'M SO PROUD OF YOU ALL!"
Hoseok said while tears were streaming down his face.
They all congratulated each other and we're escorted out by the staff. They would be getting an email from BigHit later on for more details about being a trainee.
They all got in the cab and made a quick reservation for a fancy restaurant.
"This, this is so weird. That we made it. I actually can't believe it."
Hoseok said, stunned.
"See? I told you! We did it!"
Jimin said with his heart still pounding.
"I'm gonna call my parents and Yoongi."
Jimin was beyond excited to share the news with them.
The other boys did the same. Nothing could ever compare to this feeling. Ever. Jimin was so happy. And so was everyone else. For once it felt like the world was at peace.
